I just got the e-mail with the link.

*****Important Note before Switching Your Plan*****

Once you enable Sales Manager Inventory Edition, it will replace the current Sales Manager interface you are familiar with using. Vendio will help you import your existing inventory into Inventory Edition, as well as your currently live and recently closed listings.

When it says "recently closed listings" what do you call recent?

What about the archived items? Will I still be able to restore them or access them through an Excel file?

Will there be changes in Post Sale Management as for as sold items are concerned? Dealing with the customers?

I want to get my ducks in a row before I change.

Thanks
Debbie

Debbie,
Unfortunately, I'm still new to this system as well. I haven't got the answers to your question in front of me. I'll make sure this gets looked at and responded to tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!

Best Regards,

Before I switch over I have to make sure that I will not lose my unsold item list - and also would like information about how long the closed items stay in post-sale clarified. If we switch over but decide we don't like it, can we switch back - will all the items appear as they are now or will we lose data?

I did not lose my unsold items list. I have some in there that are about a month old.

My post sale item list did not change and I have some old ones in there as well.

If you switch back, you will be taken back to the place you were before the change as far as inventory goes. The way I understand it all the post sale information will not be lost.

I have a PDF file on all this I can e-mail you if you like.

Thanks Gtootie - I am still a little afraid to test it....have lots of relists to auction and relists to store to do and it sounds like that that part isn't working right yet? I need unsold items to go back about 6 months sometimes....I don't archive anything and currently have all my solds and unsolds since 9/2002 available.

I am having problems relisting unsold items that were set up as auto relist. The others are not a problem. I will let you know of any answers I get.

I saw you say once that you keep things in Pending also. That will not work with this Version. I lost all my pending auctions. None were scheduled. I was just using them as a template.

But the good thing is, you can copy an inventory item and then edit the copy. Works just as well.

How do you keep your closed listings that long? Mine are always automatically archived after 120 days. I have never found a way to stop it.

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to let you know - if you switch over to SMIE, your Sales Manager inventory will be saved, but any changes you make while signed up for SMIE will not transfer back to Sales Manager if you decide to switch back.

As far as post-sale goes, changes made in SMIE should transfer back to Sales Manager if you decide to switch. All post-sale data will be retained in SMIE when you switch initially.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Diana

GTootie - I think the choice about archiving is in Global Preferences - I don't have any archiving selected.

Thanks for the heads up about the Pending..so the thing to do is to transfer my pending items to Inventory items before I switch over? How are inventory items sorted?

Niner - you mean the category links in the header on all of my auctions? THat is in the "Custom header" section in "seller manage you store ... the first item is: "Set Up Your Custom Listing Header" - select: "Show my custom listing header in my listings" and you can choose to have a store search there as well as some categories appearing.
