Even though I have stated in several places that the shipping amount I have quoted is for domestic shipping, every once in a while I get a customer that checks out and pays the domestic amount and later refuses to pay extra for international shipping. They usually claim they checked out, that was what check out told them to pay, they paid, end of business!
Please, is there a way to not allow international bidders to check out until the postage has been corrected???
If this is not possible, this is a MUST for future versions.
I will log a suggestion for this for future checkouts. For now, I would suggest that you put text in your listings AND in your checkout messages in bold stating that international bidders must pay the international shipping rate and that failure to do so will result in negative feedback (something along those lines). This will prevent situations like this from happening.

Sonya, I thought the new checkout that's about to be released took care of this. Weren't we told that if a bidder's address was outside the US, they wouldn't be able to select US shipping options?
Putting it in bold on everything still doesn't work. I've got it EVERYWHERE (even in my listings) that international bidders need to contact me so I can revise their shipping costs, but I still get at least 2 a week e-mailing me, distraught that checkout won't accept their address for calculated shipping. They simply don't read, no matter how hard you try to make them.
Yes that is included in the new checkout...sorry for misinformation in my earlier post. New Checkout should be available within the next couple of weeks.
Have you ever seen the movie The Money Pit, with Tom Hanks & Shelly Long? I was just snickering to myself about the "two weeks" thing. It reminds me of the contractor in the movie whose response to every question regarding when they'll be finished with the house is "two weeks." I think they finish 6 months AFTER the "two weeks!"
I'm sure the new checkout will be well worth the wait. Looking forward to it!
