Hi guys, I see there are quite a few posts about problems with new listings re the insurance details. Let me add mine. I have just gone into my Global Preferences and took out ALL references to insurance. I just wrote it into my custom listing text in the auction. But when I try to save the Global Preference page with the corrections I get the following box.
Java Script Aplication
Please insert a value for all selected insurance breakpoints.
I have no idea what this means or how to do what it is asking me to do. I can't save the page. HELP!!!!!!!! Steve

I looked at your account. You have an incomplete table under International Insurance. If you dont want to have Vendio calculate your insurance, you need to either set insurance options to No Offered, or set a cost associated with it.
If I were you, I would try having Vendio calculate it for you. There have been some bugs and errors after the release and they are all discussed here, but at the same time, we calculate thousands and thousands correctly every day that you dont hear about.
Were you getting errors before? How do you want it to charge? If you tell us what you want, maybe we can help you set it up to do what you want?

Hi Abe, than you for your quick and informative response. I had always just checked the box under insurance options as $6.00 and the next box under shipping costs as "TBA on end of auction". Those boxes don't work for me anymore as I was getting that message shown in my post. So I decided to put nothing and just list the insurance costs in my Custom Listing Text. I guess that will work for now. The problem came up when I tried to relist some items. That message kept coming up and I couldn't figure out what it wanted me to do or where I was making my mistake. I finally deleted the two checkmarks in the above mentioned boxes and I was able to proceed from there. I find some of your new procedures very confusing and with a lack of explanation from Vendio it costs me a lot of time trying to figure out what to do. I think when you guys make these changes you also need to add in a small tutorial explaining what you have done and how to procede. I have been with you for about 6 years and usually the only time I have a problem is when you make changes. I firmly believe in the adage "If it aint broke-don't fix it". I don't see where these new changes are to my advantage unless it is for sellers that use more complicated listings than I do. I also believe in "Kiss-keep it simple stupid". No insult intented. Hi again, I neglected to say that I ship from France and my insurance options are different than those in the states. I don't see how you can calculate for me as I use a sliding scale depending upon the final value of the auction ie:$6.00 for the first $300.00 and $1.00 for each additional $100.00 in value. That is exactly what the French Postal Service charges. If you can calculate that for me I would appreciate your help. I now just have it listed as I said in my custom listing text at the bottom of the auction description text. Steve
I went into your settings and I changed up your insurance settings a bit. You were getting that java script error for specifying some values and not other values (for example having custom rates set at $100 with nothing in the cost field for how much you wanted to charge). I fixed this for you.
I also put in some values for your international insurance based on your last post. Please take a look and let me know if it fits your needs.

Sonya, as usual you have pulled me out of the fire. Thank you so much. I did make some changes to your changes. Namely I deleted all references and numbers for USA insurance as I don't ship from the USA. Secondly I changed the International insurance from optional to required. I could swear that is the way that I had it prior to getting that message, but the difference is that you have all those secret little tricks that I don't know about. Hi Sonya, yes I would like it emailed to me. Thanks, Steve. re France don't wait until you are a senior citizen like I did before visiting France. I wish I would have moved here 25 years ago. There is so much to see and do in Europe that I just won't be around long enough to get it all in. Just think about things like the following. How about hopping up to Paris for a weekend (only a two hour train ride away) or jumping over to Italy for a few days, just a few hours drive away. Never did I think I would be visiting places like Prague, or Madrid, or Budapest or Rome or Istanbul. It is all doable within a few hours. Either by plane, train or car. It's a tough life but someone has to do it. Of course I paid my dues over the years to be able to live like this. But it was all worth it and I thank my good fortune that I was given this chance. In order to stay with Vendio, I need to know whether you will change soon the way INSURANCE is handled so it is straightforward like it was before your new system changed everything. I need to charge a fixed flat rate shipping amount that WILL show up in ebay's shipping field--Your system DOES allow me to do this. AND I need to allow ebay buyers to combine shipping for multiple items (full flat rate 1st item, 80% discount remaining items)--Your system DOES allow me to do this too. AND I need to allow buyers to add optional POSTAL INSURANCE during checkout based on USPS calculation table based on total $ amount of all items combined--Your system does NOT allow me to do this if I need to put flat rate shipping amts in ebay shipping fields. If I need to put flat rate shipping amts in ebay fields (ebay shoppers use those fields to make purchase decisions!), your system does NOT allow me to then select calculated insurance when listing. Then it looks to buyers like we do not offer insurance at all. And if I simply fill in $1.30 fixed flat rate for insurance ebay field, then your system charges that flat rate insurance amount for every item during checkout and does not calculate correctly based on total combined order. I've already talked on the phone with Bob I believe and he said this is not possible with the new "improved?" system. I simply need to know--Are you willing to accommodate this in the next couple weeks so I can stay with Vendio, or do I need to move to ChannelAdvisor or other? We simply cannot continue to use your system with this major flaw--It is a "show stopper" for us, as I'm guessing it is for many other buyers that must use flat rate shipping + combined shipping discount + calculated optional insurance. Please let me know if/when this can be allowed, or whether I simply must look elsewhere.

And please do not just say "we'll pass your suggestion along to engineering." That gives me no answer--You might make the change, you might not. I need to somehow know if you can make this change to retain my business (yes or no), or if I should simply start looking elsewhere now and it is not something you can/will accommodate in the next couple weeks.
