Sorry for any confusion, I think she was just trying to address all concerns - as you know how sometimes one can be irritated when all mentioned issues aren't addressed in responses.

Hi Davebraun,
I apologize for the delay I was double checking on the intended insurance behaviors for orders. When you use unified shipping for an order, the insurance should apply to the order total. However when unified insurance is not used, the insurance will apply to each item and add up at the end.
Do you combine your orders? If you do, you will need to use unified shipping. If you don't and your customers check out on their own and combine their orders on their own, please let me know so I can relay this back to our engineering team.

Hello Davebraun,
Some of the items in the orders that you mention have a preset insurance fee of $1.30. For instance in order 780298315, items 4998672174, 5000767196, 4999864684 have insurance set at $1.30.
When insurance fee is preset, this fee is added to the total. For the rest of the items, the carrier-speific rates are used (with a resulting fee of $2.20 for the rest of the items in order 780298315).
The items with insurance prset are inventory or SM Pro items, with insurance cost entered in the eBay Checkout fields. Whenever sales tax and insurance have been entered in the listing in the old shipping format, these values are copied to the new format.
