eBay has discontinued support for certain javascript functions and HTML 'tags' in auction listings. These may cause errors on launch if you have any disallowed javascript or tags in your listing descriptions or in default text. If you are receiving this error, please check the following:
1. Check your default text (located under My Account -> Custom Listing Text) for any javascript Paypal logos. If you are using a javascript logo, we would recommend you remove it from your listing text.
2. Check for any 'meta' tags, or 'base href' tags. These have been disallowed by eBay and can result in error 353.
Please let us know if you are unable to find the javascript or HTML that is causing the errors.

Hi Sonya..
Thanks for writing. I am totally ignorant about "java script".. I do use HTLM in my auctions .. and played around with the listing for hours until I figured out the below line was creating the error
... I had written exactly this...
...(old glass was laid to cool in straw, creating an imprint or line into the glass itself, ..thus "strawmark"
.. for some reason once I took THAT LINE out of the listing .. I could do an ebay preview without error 353 message. This only happened on one auction.. but for the life of me I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I kept typing a line and doing a preview.. typing another line doing a preview.. until I figured it out.
I don't have any javascript logos.. etc.. and have no clue what 'meta' tags, or 'base href' tags are. All I know was once I removed the line above about strawmarks in glass ..I had no other problems.
I list ALOT of old glass with imprints/ strawmarks.. so any ideas why I cant write this in my auctions????

ok.. NOW i AM REALLY STUMPED!!
I am not adding that yellow smiley gif !! Whay is it appearing .. at the end of the line I add ) == parentheses.. what the heck is going on? No wonder eBay preview gave me an error..
When I click on the gif it's properties read vendio wink.gif... this is very weird!

Not the twilight zone ..that winky smily face comes from using punctuation in your post...a parentheses and some other mark will make a winking smile. EDITED: Not sure what does it, just know it happens in my posts too.
-------------------------------------
A wink occurs when you type ; ) (with the space taken out) but I'm not sure what else makes a wink. I've seen it using other character combinations but I don't know why it does that.
You might want to contact eBay to find out what about that text flagged the javascript alert, if it continues to happen.
