Haven't had launch problems in so long but I'm trying to get to eBay preview and got the following error.

"Error 353: Java script not allowed.
Either your Description, Location, or Checkout Instructions has Java script that is not allowed."

I have NO Javascript in any of my auction. The only thing that's not standard to all my auctions this time is the item description which is copied in from MS Front Page -- where I write ALL my auctions (and do my html). Can't think what the problem could be. CAN YOU HELP?
Thanks!

Forgot to mention - this is happening on the following auction that you will find in my pending:

GREAT PAIR c.1900 ARTS & CRAFTS CAST IRON SCONCES

I have numerous other auctions that I have written today and are ready for launch that I've had no problems with. Can anyone please check out?!

THANKS!

Hello lennonhall,

As you suspected, eBay only thinks your using JavaScript as a result of some of the wording.

In the example you mentioned, the line they are blocking the listing is as follows:

"....wish to replace (we generally..."

The issue they are having is the word 'replace' coming before the bracket. They think this is JavaScript that isn't allowed.

I would just change this particular bracket to [this] style instead and they should allow it.

Christopher

Yikes. Thanks Christopher. Don't know much about Java (only html). I have certainly used parantheses like this before and never had this error ... but I'll definitely give your suggestion a try and let you know !

Thanks!!

IT WORKED! Yay! That was a weird one I've never seen before after all these years!

Thanks so much for the speedy, intelligent and CORRECT reply!

Your welcome. Its not an issue with the brackets really, it is the word 'replace' that eBay is having an issue with.

You could keep the brackets and remove the word 'replace' or put another word after 'replace' and it would still list.

The combination of the word 'replace' and the bracket is the cause of the error.

Regards,
Christopher
