I don't use inventory (the inventory part of SMP, not the new edition.) I found it very confusing and a waste of time. I sell antiques and collectibles. Each item is unique. I would love to be able to enter my item cost and view gross profit info, but there is no way to currently do that.
Especially with the new reports, it would be very helpful. You could just add a field in SMPro so that the info could be added if desired, at the time the listing is created.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have forwarded it to the product manager for evaluation. We will be releasing a new version of SM Pro shortly, but I'm not sure if this feature will be included in the next release.
