I know I have TONS of images that were used in OLD sold listings. I have been reluctant to delete any images for fear of deleting one used by a Store item. I think I could delete many of the 2003 images if I can be assured that the "last viewed date" is accurate. Is it?

I believe it is accurate, that is - I don't know of anything that would cause it to be inaccurate. However, if you delete the images and find that some should not have been deleted you can recover them from Recycle before permanently deleting them. Just note that the images on your listings are cached and changes can take a couple of hours to show up on your listings. So I would delete the images, then check your listings tomorrow or later today, and if your listings are OK, then go ahead and empty the Recycle Bin.

Neglus: I hope this isn't too late for you.
I personally notice two things with these imgages.
First, images attached to my eBay store do not renew automatically. Not all, but some delete themselves.
Second, the last viewed does not always register for ebay store items.
I would be very careful about deleting if I were you.

Another item to note is that a number of eBay storefront listings can go months without any views, which could throw off what you would expect to see in terms of the 'last viewed' date.
Also, buyers and sellers can sometimes throw off the 'last viewed' date by searching and viewing old closed listings, where old images attached to closed/sold auctions may show 'last viewed' dates up to a month since the item was active.

Thanks for the caveats - these are filed under "pre-2003 images" and none of them had last viewed dates more recent than the date I moved them from "unfiled" into folders (Sept 2004).
One thing I noticed is that I can't keep some things in the recycle bin and permanently delete other things. It's all or nothing.
