Hello. I used to use the vendio checkout with a customer manager @vendio.com email address. I discontinued CM nearly a year ago and wish to only use the ebay checkout. ll my email addresses were correctly changed including at vendio, paypal, and ebay, so there is no longer a CM @vendio.com email address registered for me anywhere.

I would still like to use Vendio's post sale system and have left my IPN set up at paypal with the standard instructions we are given to instantly notify Vendio if there is a paypal payment.

My first customer using the ebay checkout was given my old @vendio.com email address to submit the payment and therefore submitted it to the wrong email address. I don't have that address so couldn't access the payment, and can't find that address anywhere I missed to change it (I've checked all my email default settings everywhere). I gave the correct paypal address in the listing and have the non-vendio-associated correct email tied to my vendio, ebay and paypal accounts. The problem seems to be generated by the ebay checkout for the customer. Does this have anything to do with the way the IPN is set up? Can you tell me how to fix it?

The item number example is 9322423778
Thanks!!!

Hello,

I took a look at your account and this listing, and I noticed that your account is still showing that the @vendio.com address is being used for your PayPal account. You can make this change by going to "My Account" --> "Global Preferences" --> "Payment Types" --> in the PayPal ID section, change the @vendio.com address to the email address that you are currently using for PayPal. Make sure that you save your changes.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you continue to have trouble with this.

Regards,
Nathan

Hello. Thanks for finding this, I thought all my addresses everywhere had been changed. This is really an SMIE question now, but I posted here so I'll ask here.

I have checked many of my items for the info under the "Payment and Shipping" tab + "Payment" column and in Edit mode the correct global preference for paypal email address seems to be coming up now for even the items that were previously launched wrong and have closed (my closed auctions inventory folder).

I have 2 auctions that closed with the problem last night but both were possibly launched as relists before I corrected my global default--I can't remember exactly when I corrected the default relative to the relist. Their payments are being routed by the ebay checkout to my defunct vendio CM address, hopefully only because of the previous global default error you found. I have to ask the customers to resubmit their payments at paypal and I am getting no paypal payment notifications at the correct address.

Are global preferences applied consistently at launch or only at creation of the inventory item? I just need to confirm that I don't need to go in and recreate from scratch all my inventory items or edit or recreate every item for relist for the change to apply at relaunch if I copy a listing or inventory item. If the default is correct will all my launches and relaunches from now on have the ebay checkout sending the people to pay at the right paypal address currently in my global defaults? Can I expect that to be also picked up by my vendio postsale through the IPN like when I used the vendio checkout when paypal sends the payment email to my correct address? Since I switched to the ebay checkout, I haven't had any of these close and go through correctly yet.
Thanks!

Hello,

The global preference for the PayPal email address your going to be using is applied at the time your items are submitted, as there is only one place where you can store an email address to be used for your PayPal payments.

This is the address that eBay will then want to use as well, although you will want to check to see what they list as a default address in their own create listing form.

Go through the process of creating and listing one auction from eBay directly, just as a test listing, so you can verify that your new email address is the one they are defaulting to.
If not, change it at that step in the listing process and continue through and submit the test item. This should then update the default address that eBay will use for your PayPal payments, as they currently have nowhere else in their system for you to store it.

Christopher

Thank you very very much. Ebay confirmed the vendio.com address was still tied to my closed auctions and I would have to launch an auction through their sell your item form to fix it. When I launched the 1 day test auction just now, the correct email address was autopopulated on their sell your item form. Hopefully after one confirming launch it will be okay from then on. Do you have any idea why the address on their change your item form was not incorrect? I expected to have to change it.

Hello,

eBay typically uses the last known PayPal email address as the default when you go to submit a new listing.

From that point forward it should continue to use your new email address. The issue is that any items that are still active from before the change will retain their original paypal email address at eBay's checkout, so those you would need to edit manually first.

Items you relist from Vendio will use the new address, but I would doublecheck any items that you relist from eBay directly to verify which address they have setup within.

Christopher

Thank you. I ran a 1 day test auction and ebay live help confirmed the change was recorded by their system for future auctions. Thanks again.
