I am currently using two vendio accounts. (You REALLY need a better way to accommodate people with multiple selling ID's. Paypal does it; I don't see why you can't. But that's beside the point.)
I log out of one and then in with the other. It welcomes me and brings up the SM screen for the second id, but when I try to use it I'm really still logged in under the first id. If I click on post sale management for a particular item, I get an error that it can't find the item. If I click on "closed items" or "image hosting", it brings up that page for the first ID that I logged out of!
I shouldn't have to clear my cache to use the site (and it's more than that - I'm not getting a cached page, I'm getting a current one.)
Besides being a frustrating nuisance, this is potentially a major security problem for your site. I'm using a home computer; no big deal. What if, as I sometimes do, I were using my library's computer? Would I log out, only to have the next vendio user who comes along be logged into my account when they try to use the site?
I just rebooted my computer, logged in and STILL had it on the wrong id when I tried to view PSM for an item.
You will see this differently on different computers/browsers and even ISP's, in terms of how they manage the cache for the pages you have visited.
Since we are testing for customers all day and needing to log in/out of accounts constantly, I to have ran into some of the issues you mention.
I personally have switched to using the Mozilla FireFox browser nearly 100% of the time. While I can also use IE and manage to get in and out of accounts fairly easily, its just faster and easier to do it in FireFox.
Sometimes its helpful to have both accounts logged in at the same time, and in this case I will log into one within FireFox and the other within Internet Explorer. This is handly in that you then dont have to log in or out of either account all day if you dont wish to do so. You can simply click to view the Internet Explorer window for account #1 and click the FireFox window for account #2.
Running both at the same time doesn't seem to cause any issues with the speed of the computer, so if that would be an ideal scenario - just go download the free FireFox browser from Mozilla.com - log into each of your accounts from each of the browsers and never worry about logging in/out of your accounts again.
