Ok Vendio - with ebay raising store prices your store is looking better & better! My plan is to list some of my aged inventory ONE MORE time in ebay during the 10 cent listing day and then move the unsolds to Vendio store. If I click the "save to inventory" box when listing on ebay, will this save a copy so I can launch from Inventory to Vendio store if the item doesn't sell, or what IS the best way to do this?

I am thinking the same thing, moving some of my lower $ items strictly to my Venido store which I already have, and eventually forcing my check-out to redirect and have all customers go through Vendio check-out so they are aware of the Vendio store.
I am using the inventory edition and it is very simple..when writing up the listing there is a box to check to make the item visible in the Vendio store and it shows up there as soon as I save my write-up. It stays there until I launch it to ebay (still visible in the store if I have ebay items visible or you can turn ebay auctions off and only show Vendio store items). As soon as the listing ends on ebay, it is available again as just a Vendio store item.
I don't know if it works the same for the non-inventory edition, but it is very simple in Inventory edition.
When creating an item online, you can click, save one to my inventory and it will. All inventory items that have at least one item for sale show up automatically in your store. You don't have to "launch them".
As an alternative, when an ebay items closes that I no longer want to list either in my ebay store OR as an auction item, I go to the bottom of the relisting page and click: Sell one in my ebay store for $xx. And then it prompts you with your store categories.
This action does two things: puts the item in your store AND saves it in your inventory (with all the ebay options saved). Therefore, you can just relist it later if you want.

Thanks Memories - I use merchandising edition as every one of my items is unique. Inventory does have its advantages though - sounds like moving inventory between venues is very easy with IE!
Thanks Beth - it does makes sense.Did you figure a way to submit the Vendio store to search engines using Merchandising Edition or is Vendio doing it for you?

Vendio is doing it for me. The searches are tricky tho. You have to be very specific to have your items come up.
IN GOOGLE-BASE: If you type in 1923 Chevrolet ad then my vendio and ebay items pop right up to the top.
In Froogle you can put my store name: vintageads4u in and get a bunch of stuff or you can type in a specific.
Sometimes a ton of stuff comes up and sometimes a little does.
I also do the eBay feeds and use Feedburner. D'ont know if that is helping or not.
I typed in Moody Mommy in Froogle and got about 30 of your items. In googlebase, I don't know a specific for which to search.
One more tip. I recently stopped showing my eBay items in my Vendio store. In my vendio store, folks will pay up to 2X more for an ad. Since I have so many duplicates, they would look for that 1923 Chevy and see one in my VD store for $9.99 and exactly the same thing in my ebay store for $4.95. So, you might consider that.

The ebay store items appearing in the Vendio store is a problem. The items that appear are "store" items not "auction" items.
Originally, the "Auction Gallery" link was for those store items which were at auction on "both" ebay and Yahoo.
Well, when ebay stores were created, Vendio just could not bring itself around to correct the problem of ebay stores and ebay auctions being combined and linked together. Last message on this was about two years ago - our requests to correct the problem were passed to the black hole called product development.
Of course, we all know about the loss of our ability to list on Yahoo auctions from Vendio. We could all really use that option now.
Is there a benefit to having your ebay store items appear on the Vendio store site? If you are fortunate enough to have the same inventory listed at both sites, I strongly believe there is no benefit.
However, if the Vendio store were used to house your main inventory, and auctions were listed on ebay, there would most certainly be a benefit.
How many of us use our Vendio store as our main selling site? I gave that up years ago. No room for embellishing your front page (strange how quickly space was found for the Dealio link), no room for policies (shipping, privacy, etc.) and no ability to market our own links with various link exchanges.
The hum of voices on the ebay Outlook board is that of ebay store owners seeking another home for their goods. Many want a primary off site store. Does anyone know of a good store site? One where you could list auction at ebay and Yahoo? And, have those auctions included in their store?
Maybe the Vendio staff could pass our request on to someone who could help.

Beth, If you don't show your ebay items anymore can you still call your link in your listings "gallery" and get away with it?
Also - I am not keen on "click to enlarge view" - I find I have best sales when my postcard is presented in all its glory and larger than life so I would lose that link too.
I was thinking of pricing my Vendio store stuff LOWER than ebay stuff since I wouldn't have killer fees to deal with.
I really like the idea of upselling on checkout but am scared to implement the forced Vendio checkout...shopping cart is very appealing
At the very least this seems to be a good answer in the short run to move inventory in a hurry without a lot of setup and promotion.

The Gallery link (and you can test this in one of my items) just provides all of the Ebay items on my Vendio store page (all of the other 10K ads are listed on the side in categories). So, 2 click rule still applies.
I started compressing my images even more as I approached the top level of Vendio's image hosting plan. So, I need the supersize. But, probably not important.
Selling lower would be OK, too. And might be more attractive. I believe from speaking to my Vendio store customers that they find me on the web and then go to my ebay store. The site statistics ebay provides does show a lot of folks get there from here.
Even tho the Checkout is "forced", most of my users pay from the invoice with Paypal (unfortunately) and never checkout. When I was using the Checkout Redirect, I got a couple of complaints but told people they did not have to use it if they didn't want to. I have stopped using Post Sale Express primarily because the email function in it is so iffy...I get a bunch of the emails Vendio sends out kicked back as Spam.
Guess that covers everything. I also have a store on Ioffer for really low priced items. Gets a few sales a month and no cost unless someone buys something.
