I have a question, as per ebays store-to-auction special I have to change my ebay store items on ebay through their 'send to auction' link:
If I change any store items to auction items through ebay will Vendio automatically update the change in format (store-to-auction) as well as carry over any price changes? would post-sale still continue as originally set in Vendio when it was first launched?
I am only changing a few items but I don't want to change anything through ebay if those changes do not automatically carry over to Vendio.

This is my experience.
First, the store auctions you close on eBay take quite awhile to show up in Post Sale. I had a group take almost two weeks. I could do nothing to force them to move.
Second, you will have to import the ones you "created" on eBay. Vendio would have no record of any auction you created on eBay. Now you have to be careful here because you could end up with duplicates in the Unsold area of Post SAle if the new auctions don't sell.
Hope this is understandable.

I was coming in here to see if anyone knew how to send store to auction items directly on Vendio. After your comments here, can I assume this is not possible?

I was pretty sure of the same thing:
that if I changed any store item to an auction through ebay the ended store items would go to closed [eventually] and the now-auction item would not show up in Vendio; however after importing, would create a 'copy' in Vendio showing them on auction. So I am also going to assume that these closed items will sit in closed/unsold (with the ebay store itcon next to them), thus the imported ones would technically be 'copies'.
Now, these are items that were created on Vendio as auctions previously, then turned into ebay store items. They were created with post-sale tools set. If imported, wouldn't the post-sale tools carry though? If not, could I 'set' the post-sale for them after imposting? I was thinking that this was something I did another time when some relists did not show up in active (they were Vendio-created items originally)- I imported them, then 'set' the post-sale'.
Anyone know if this is correct (about imposting & setting the post-sale tools?)

I have always been able to use post sale when importing. The glitch is that you cannot relist it through Vendio if it does not sell.
But since the original closed store auction will be in the unsold folio, if the item does not sell as an auction, I plan on archiving it from unsold in it's auction format and relisting it as the store auction.
(Is that making sense?)

Susan, that is exactly what I planned on doing. Import, then anything that did not sell on auction, I would archive...then relist in my ebay store from the original closed store items that would still be sitting in closed.
Now, my hubby thinks I should NOT import the 'auctions-from-store' items- that it would just add to the confusion. Instead, run them as auctions on ebay and any sales just deal with through ebay's 'sold items'. Then I would not have to sort through/archive any unsold auctions or worry about duplicates. I would only have to find the sold 'old store items' and archive them, then just relist the remaining old store items.
Saying the above almost confused me! and with 1100 store items that I wanted to convert...I could get really confused!

I only have average about 200 items in the store and planned on converting a just a small percentage.
Like your husband, I think it would be too confusing with a large potential for duplicate relists later.
The thought of converting more than a dozen or so makes my head spin. I might even just forget the whole relist from store to auction thing, take some new photos and start from scratch!

I think importing so many might definately make for a confsing month, esp. trying to archive sold auctions, unsold auctions & sold store items- whew!
Interesting note though: I had posted a question earlier today on the ebay discussion thread with what appears to be a somewhat vague spec on the $.10 store-to-auction special:

My question...if I do it that way, I can only move one item at a time....however if I check off the store items that I want to move to auction (from the items 'I'm Selling', then click on 'Send to Auction' (above the list of items 'I'm Selling'), then I can do multiples.
With ebay saying 'you must do it this way' makes me nervous as when they launch (as I have sent a few to auction) it shows the normal fee- and states NOTHING about a credit in September - so if I gosh-forbit 'do not follow their instructions', I could end up with a $950 bill and NO Credit in Sept. and NOT know about it until after the fact, thus blindly listing away.

My question never got an answer from ebay. Someone else posted something right after that was a bit off-the-wall so my question went to the can (as everyone lambasted the latter poster). Sigh...
Since their special specs said 'must' yet there was another 'send to auction' link on the same 'items i'm selling' page that allowed me to do more than one at a time, this seems unreasonable; however, I can't gamble as to whether I will receive my fees back in Sept or not, and without an answer from ebay I have enjoyed the evening 'off'
I decided to scrap changing any store items for their 'special' beyond the 65 I did this morning (hope I see those credits!) I think instead tonight will be a good night to turn my ebay store items into Vendio store items!

Paula, It is my understanding that you can move store items to auction via ebay's bulk tool as well as item by item.
RE: IMPORTING ITEMS
I don't think Vendio recognizes any connection between the new ebay listing and the ended store listing. When the item is imported, Vendio assigns a new image id (if image storage is an issue you will now have duplicate images for each item moved.)
You *can* get the ended item to move but you have to go to the page where it appears in the "Active" section of the Control Panel..you can put a check mark beside all items on the page (I find this is the fastest way) and hit the Vendio refresh button - then you have to do it again (It takes two refreshes to get the items to move). You may then have to go to the "Closed" panel where the item may say "closing" and check off and then refresh twice again. It's a hassle!!
I have been able to relist imported items but it takes some work. the entire template (the template HTML) as well as the description and custom listing text and item specific all appear in the description box. If you would relist "as is" you would have double templates (templates inside templates) The image attached to the listing is the new imported image id and not the one you originally attached. Once you figure out how you will handle this it's not so hard but certainly not able to be handled in bulk relister.
I usually clear out my "unfiled" image folder prior to importing. All of the imported images will get dumped here. When you are finished importing you can move the imported images to a new folder.
Once an imported listing is relisted through Vendio, it is once again a Vendio listing (with counter reset etc).

I did not realize that imported items copied pix into 'unfiled'....I was always wondering why certain pictures were in there!
I know what you mean about items not moving from Active to Closed &/or Post-sale. Oddly, the 65 or so that I did move from ebay Store to Auction moved immediately in Vendio from Active to Closed (they seem to only stay stuck in Active [or 'closing] when someone does a BIN!
I think I will leave those 65 auctions that I converted to themselves on ebay and not import them. I will be moving them to my Vendio store after they close anyways- and I am going to have to edit them at that time to put them into my Vendio store (edit then re-edit! ugh!).
The other 1000 ebay store items will stay put for now. Most of ebay specials have required me to edit or move items- and I always jumped on it, working day and night to 'take advantage' of the special. In the end, ebay knew what they were doing- it is/was always very slow times when they do specials and the % of sales I get out of it versus the work involved to edit/change items always seemed to make it not worth it in the end. And the thought of editing 1000 store items to auctions....then in 5 days re-edit/relaunch to ebay store items (so I can get 'one more lower month' of store items)...so that when they end I can edit once again to put them in my Vendio store...kill me now! In the end, it would cost me $200 + FVF's (that is IF I received all of my $800 or so credit back in Sept) and countless hours.
I think I will casually relist my items to my Vendio store at my leisure over the next month as they close on ebay (at a cost of $0). Then I can put the padlock on my ebay store and go have a cup of coffee!

I just finished going through 84 (to start with) pages of "active items" in the Control Panel to get the ended store listings to move in Vendio - I refreshed the pages 3 times this time before they would move! UGH@ I now have the Vendio count just 15 items higher than the ebay count...but it's close. Maybe the other items will come through eventually.
Vendio - is there any way to refresh all active items at once? 100 items/page isn't very many and it's very clumsy because the "select all" button is at the bottom and the "refresh" button is at the top.

Not at this time. I do admit that the functionality is a bit clunky with all the back and forth to refresh, but I guarantee you that nobody ever expected to have to use this tool for issues like this. I have forwarded on a request to have added a "refresh all" or "select all" button.

Thanks Ed. I agree that who would have expected something like this to happen - but it may not be the last time! Many of us are going to keep a closer eye on our store inventory and probably do a lot more moving around with the fee hike. And it's not outside the realm of possibility that ebay will do this again
Perhaps it would be a good idea to do a "refresh all active listings" as part of the import protocol?
