Hello,
Everytime I need to edit the description of a listing while it is active I can only edit it with the HTML. It is very hard to find just the right line where the text is wrong or some other problem.
Why am I not being able to use the HTML editor that shows it as it is normally seen without all the HTML?
Hope you understand my question, not sure I do!

Hello,
No worries, we know exactly what your talking about.
Unfortunately when you list without using the eBay specific HTML editor (on their SYI form) - they will then default the editing window to be in raw text format.
In the past they had allowed users to edit their items using the HTML editor they have, but it caused problems when opening other users code so they simply disabled it in those cases. (easier than fixing whatever the problem was I suppose.)
What I usually do is just take all of the text from the description field, paste it into my HTML editor of choice (Vendio listing form, or just Frontpage) and then edit it within that instead. When done click to get the raw HTML code for the corrected listing, copy and past away.
It sounds complicated, but once you do a few its a piece of cake.

Thanks for the great tip, Christopher!
I too have often been flummoxed when trying to edit through all the html on the eBay reviser.
I never thought of using the Vendio site to clarify it and I am sure I will be using your method in the future.
