as i say before sound like a super idea BUT one problem i can see , what if one client bid on 5 and even more items in one week ???
i think that to send hime email for each item is a bit too much and chould reverse the purpose , can we send one email a week to a client even if he bid on 20 items ???
hope you understand what i am talking about , for example i had 1 client last week that won 60 items i realy dont want to send this person 60 thank you email , please advise if it possible to control this.

Hello Jacob,

We're working on tweaking the Buyer Appreciation Service, and there are already plans to provide our sellers options to only send one notice out at one time.

Jack,

If your items are bundled, then they will only receive one notice. However, if they are separate orders then your buyers will ultimately receive multiple notices. AS I mentioned earlier, this is an enhancement that we are already working on to provide additional functions for the feature.

Hello --

With today's release of the Buyer Appreciation Service, bidders and buyers will receive ONE e-mail per eBay listing that they bid on or buy. (Therefore, even if a listing is for a quantity of 3 items, the bidder/buyer will receive only 1 message for that listing). You have the option to send e-mails only to bidders, only to buyers, to both, or none at all.

As we collect feedback from customers on this new service, we will continue to work on improving it. The option to limit the e-mails based on time (so that only 1 e-mail is sent to a bidder/buyer within a given time period) is currently in design phases - the details will be refined based on the input and feedback we gather from you and other customers.

Thanks for your insights!

-- Christina

Vendio, you've had a lot of great ideas in the past, but I think you're off-base on this customer appreciation thing. I get enough junk mail -- if I were to start getting promotional e-mails from sellers every time I bid on something, that would be the LAST time I bid on anything from that seller!

I hate pushy salespeople in shops; one of the benefits of buying online is that you can tell websites you don't want their newsletters or e-mails from their associates. Will you allow eBay customers to opt out of receiving these annoying promotional e-mails from sellers using Vendio?? -- Val

I happen to like the service. I think it is a great idea, that should enable us to personalize our business.

At one time, I owned and operated a store. I was always in the store, walking about and talking with my customers. Many times, I greeted my customers at the door, and further encountered them, while they were shopping. I never hesitated to compliment them on their choices. And, I never hesitated to suggest other items or to point out new items in the store. If possible, I was also able to personally thank them as they left the store with their purchases.

The customers responded with frequent shopping trips to my store, and I believe that one of the reasons my business thrived, was my personal interaction with my customers.

Until now, we were unable to personalize our online business. Online shopping is dull and impersonal. This new Vendio tool will help change all that.

In answer to the question posed by eagaduga:

Yes, within every message sent out by the Buyer Appreciation Service, there is a link to a global opt-out page, which allows the message recipient to opt-out of the entire service. This means that the recipient's e-mail will be excluded from receiving any messages from this seller and any other seller using the Buyer Appreciation Service.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks --

MOderator: I have one last question, which I don't see a clear answer to in this thread.

Many of my bidders will bid more than once on the same item. I don't want them to get more than one TOTAL appreciation e-mail from me, no matter how many times they bid.

Can I arrange for that option?

Hello,

Only one message per item will be sent to each bidder, even if they have multiple bids on the same item.

Christopher: Thanks, as always, for your quick answer! I'm going to give this a try. I know there are many of us who've been wondering the same thing and didn't see it in the FAQs. Adele
