Hi, I'm desperate, last night while trying to get some images out of "Vendio image hosting" to "my pictures" I accidently clicked on a box that said "do not show images in Vendio". Did not think to much about it at the time. Figured I would fix it this morning. But I listed about 45 items last night and there are no pictures. Just a blank box and the line that says "click here to see larger image". Need your help at once. Please fix and put my images back on or at least tell me what to do. There is a lot of money invested here in auctions that have no pictures. HELP HELP HELP!!!. Steve

the images are still showing in the scrolling gallery, so they are there somewhere in Vendios cyberspace. Please help me get them back on image hosting and my auctions. Thanks, Steve

Found a section that talks about deleting and undeleting images. Per the instructions it states that I should go into the image folder I want, click on recycle bin and then click "Undelete" on all of my images. Did that, nothing happens. Steve

Waiting for a reply please!!

when I click on the recycle bin in the left column. The only thing that shows up says "something like your search shows no images. Or "there are no images in this folder". I'm so befuddled right now that I don't remember anymore. I'm really getting desperate. The thought of having to cancel all those auctions and lose a few hundred dollars is very upsetting. The only other alternative is taking all new pics and putting them on as "add to auction" pictures. But they always come out below the auction. Probably better solution than cancelling all the auctions. But maybe you guys can pull this out for me. I have been with you about 8 years and never needed you more than I need you now. Steve

sorry to keep adding to this. But I just came across an item while browsing your site trying to find a solution. It refers to Adobe Photoshop, and says that might cause some problems for some users. Well last night I took a whole bunch of vacation images that were in Vendio and tried to get them into "my pictures". I wasn't having much luck so I took the pictures off a CD that I had burned when I loaded the pics into my computer. I then put them into Adobe Photoshop which I downloaded last night for the first time. I'm afraid that the instructions are a bit too complicated for me re: jpeg etc.
The title of the question is as follows "I uploaded my images, but now I only see a red X or broken image. Why?". That is probably the problem. But I'm not computer smart enough to figure out the solution. Should I just delete the Adobe Photoshop which will get me back to square 1 and leave me where I would like them rather than Vendio image hosting. As much as I would not like to do that it is more important to get my images back in my ebay auctions. And will deleting Adobe Photoshop do that automatically or will I need to do a lot of things that I am not computer orientated enough to do? Steve

I took a look at your auctions, and I can't find any evidence of the problem you're describing in your posts.

I am able to see all the images in your listings, and they all look OK. Please provide a listing ID and tell us what exactly seems to be wrong so we can take a look and investigate the issue.

Best regards,

Vlad

Hi Vlad, thank you for your response. I know it must be quite early there for you. As we are in France we are several hours ahead of you.
Anyway I am looking at all 45 auctions I have on now. Not one shows images, except for the scrolling gallery images at the top of the auction. They also are not showing up in Vendios image hosting. Please look at the following auction and tell me if you see images. All I see is a small blue box underlined with "Click to view supersized images". I will wait to hear from you. Thanks, Steve

If you do see images then please try to explain how I can get them back on my computer

Vlad, I just tried going in through another way. I went to Google-put in ebay-put in an item ie: surveyors transit and still no pictures. I can't understand how you are seeing images and I can't. especially going in through an outside source like Google. Steve

Hi cyberageart,

It seems you have made some changes to your computer that don't allow you to see our images anymore. I can assure you we're able to see the images in all your 46 active auctions. Please try viewing them from a different computer, just to make sure they're still there. The same goes to the Vendio images stored in your account, they are perfectly visible.

In your first post you mentioned something about a box that said "do not show images in Vendio", please tell us the exact location of this text, as I don't think this comes from any of our tools.

Also, using Google won't help you see the images as your auctions have just been launched. It's improbable that Google indexes eBay auctions as well.

This doesn't seem to be related to your Photoshop software, so it would be futile for you to uninstall it. The best I can think is that you somehow managed to block Vendio from being seen on your computer, just as I said before, so any feedback from your side would be more than welcomed so we can investigate and help you resolve this problem.

If you like to, we could send some snapshots of both your account and eBay listings to your email address.

Best regards,

Vlad

Well now this is really wierd. I just walked over to a neighbors and pulled up my ebay site on their computer. There are all of my images on all of my auctions just as you said. Please excuse me for doubting you.
That being said, now how do I get them back on my computer, both in ebay and vendios image hosting?
It must all revert back to my first post in this thread where I said I accidently clicked on a button that said "do not show images on vendio" (or something like that). Now we have to figure out how to override that and get the images back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please say hello to Sonia for me . We are old friends. Thanks again, Steve

P.S. if we can't figure this out, does that mean I can never see my images again on Vendio?

Just took a new picture as a test. Put it into my Kodak easy Share Softwear Site as I always do. Named it. Then switched over to Vendio. Clicked on upload images. It uploaded a blank image. The name was there but no image, just a blank space. This is very worrying. I have many more pictures to take and auctions to list, but obviously I cannot do that without images. No need to send me your copies of the sites. I see that you are 100% correct and that my buyers can see the images. Seems like i'm the only one that can't. So what are we going to do now re new images? Will it perhaps be a case neccessitating me deleting my vendio site from my computer and starting from scratch. That seems like a desperate step to take but if you guys can't figure this out that might be a step that will have to be taken. Thoughts please, Steve

re your request about the boxed I clicked on accidently. I have no idea where it was. I was trying to move my vacation pictures from Vendio to "my Pictures" That box was there somewhere in Vendio. It couldn't have been in Adobe because I hadn't downloaded Adobe at that point yet. So the only place it could have been was Vendio. By the way my pics are now in Adobe and probably still in Vendio as well. The site is still there in Image Hosting under vacation Barcelona 2006 or a reasonably close facsimile. Can't tell if the pics are still there though as I can't pull up pics. Hope you guys can figure this mess out. Sorry for all the problems. I very rarely ever have to bother you guys. Please help! Steve

Well Vlad, wonders will never cease. If nothing else I am stubborn and kept looking for things that might have caused this mess. Well I found it and fixed it. I had right clicked on an image from the vacation pictures to see if it would give me any info on how to switch it to "My pictures". One of the choices was the problem. It said "Block Images from imagehost. vendio". I guess I clicked on it figuring it would get my vacation pics out of Vendio. Well it did that ok, as well as all the rest of my Vendio pictures. I just now unclicked that line and VOILA all my images reappeared. I apologize for all the problems and bothering you. I do appreciate your trying to help. Have a good weekend. Steve

Steve,

Vendio offers you no option to "not show Vendio images on your computer" on our site. My guess is that somehow your ad blocker/pop up stopper software prompted you this option and you selected it. Please turn off any ad blocker software running on your computer and see if this helps.

Ed

Hi cyberageart,

I cannot guarantee this is going to work, but let's just see what happens.

I see that you're using Firefox. Please go to Tools -> Options in your browser and click on the 'Content' tab. There should be a box that says 'Load images automatically'. Make sure this box is checked. Than go to 'Exceptions' and see if Vendio is present anywhere around there(sites like vendio.com or imagehost.vendio.com should not be blocked).

As long as Vendio is not blocked in your browser, you should be able to see the pictures without any problems.

Please note I have tested this using Firefox 2.0. I noticed you're using the 1.5 version, so some features may be different. You can update your browser by going to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ if you encounter any difficulties using the instructions I provided with your current version.

If that doesn't work, please try using a different browser, like Internet Explorer or Netscape. Make sure you write back in case this doesn't solve your problem so we can further investigate this issue.

Best regards,

Vlad

Ed - Sorry for butting in but I just tried to replicate the right click on the image box and saw the "block images from Vendio" dialogue (Firefox 1.5 browser).

This is what it looks like:

It sounds like OP got it straightened out but thought I'd post so you at Vendio would know what he was talking about (in case someone else does the same thing sometime)

hello again,

Thanks for that, Mary Ann. I didn't see that option in my new version of firefox. I'll keep this for future reference for sure.

Ed
