I have an interest in vintage furs so I have been checking out the various auction sites. What I am seeing does not make me happy. People are selling rabbit and calling it chinchilla which is about a hundred times more expensive, ripping the collars off of old cloth coats and selling them as mink stoles and naturally upping the price. The worst case was a "chinchilla" cape that looked like moth eaten mink and not only that but was obviously (and very badly) pieced together from several different old garments. The bidding started at a ridiculous price and then continued to go up. I feel so sorry for who ever won that thing and I hope they used escrow to make payment.

I know that fur is supposed to be a hot fashion item this Fall, but people should always study anything new to them before they start putting mega-bucks into it even if the seller has impecable feedback. Afterall sellers are human, too. Maybe they got ripped off by a previous owner and just don't know it.
