The one area that seems to me to take the hardest hit with the new tab navigation system is zShops. They don't show up in a TAB even if you have purchased from zShops, can't be added to favorites on your main page, and will only be noticed if one looks at the left hand tool bar on the site main page. Auctions are not as prominent, but at least they show up if you have purchased something from auctions or have a trail Amazon can follow that shows interest in Auctions. Where new users are supposed to come from only Jeff Bezos knows!!! -Rosalinda

Rosalinda:
Where are you getting this information? Can I read somewhere about the workings of the new Amazon tabs? It looks to me like the buttons on the right change randomly and the list in the directory is alphabetical. There is a tab for each section if you are in it, but tabs don't accumulate so that if you go from books to auctions, the auction tab replaces the book tab. I think everything but books will be hard-hit by this new system, but we'll see. I cannot find any information on personalizing the views.
And the front page is welcome with a books tab. You have to go to the directory (2nd page) to go anywhere on the site.
Part of the problem is with web developers assuming that everyone has a connection as fast as theirs.

Imagine how much fun using your TV remote would be if each time you pressed a button, the labels and functions on all but two of the other buttons switched around. They might as well have ditched the tabs altogether and gone with the directory page to begin with. Given that the buttons appear and disappear randomly, I don't think auctions will suffer more than anything else--- I think the whole site will suffer because of the irritating navigation. I've sent in my complaints.
