I'm going to maintain a SMALL presence. I sold a book yesterday that didn't sell on ebay. Perhaps the cross-link feature will help me move a few things. I may move over a couple of things from half.com and see how they do.

AWFUL. Hate to say it. I normally don't do the bid for feature thing either, but tried it the last 3 days on a few things just to see how it would work. Nada. Didn't work. Just gave Amazon.com a few more cents from me. LOL Guess this may be the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I was doing really good there for a while too! Bummer!!

We can measure hits on our graphics in the auctions. Traffic is off about 60%.

It's very confusing. I list around 1000+ items everyweek on Amazon. They just raised merchant fees to $40.00 per month and than sabotage auctions. My bids and sales are down.
So here's the question? Is Amazon getting out of auctions or just screwing up?
I like many small businesses can't afford to ride a wave like this but they have been super so far so I will hopefully wait it out.
Also, I read today's AW stories. The feedback system is intolerably bad on Amazon. They should decide on a direction because the current system is bad for business for the seller and Amazon and really doesn't help the bidder. I've had rookies just not know how the system works who've left 3's and 4's which trash your record? No appeal, even when the customer understands and genuinely wants to change his rating!

The removal of the auctions tab has proven once again that Amazon has no idea what they are doing as far as auctions are concerned.
There is no excuse for them removing the auction tab other then to try and subtly hide their failing auction efforts. Wake up Amazon. You could be king, but you keep acting like the court jester. A very stupid move on your behalf.

I'm cutting my Amazon offerings back by about 70% The site has been declining steadily for me over the past six months. A real shame - I think they've got the best software in the industry, but not a clue how to run the business. I would not be suprised to see them drop the auction and z-shop businesses entirely in the not too distant future.

I was just starting to recover from the sort change and now well, let's just say that things are down. Although, they did pick up in the last week. They need to advertise that they have auctions! Not hide it in a directory! How are we supposed to attract new customers? It is like having a restaurant with really good food, but putting that restarant at the North Pole where no one is going to make the detour to get there! I will keep plugging away for a little while longer! However, it is cold here at the North Pole.

Bids and sales are way down. Things need to change, or we need to find a new home. Any suggestions in that regard?
Ebay is unacceptable; Yahoo is ok occasionally, but I couldn't see listing several hundred auctions with them and expect to make ends meet.
Does Amazon want to be in the Auction business any longer? I really hate to see this kind of thing happening.
A number of months ago I voiced my concern that Amazon was not treating its sellers as "customers". Quite a number of "Amazon is always right" folks were quick to point out how wrong I was. We're now seeing the results of Amazon's narrow definition of customer.
And where are the "Amazon is always right" folks now? They've either left the venue or are preparing to leave.

I think it's simply that Amazon doesn't make enough money from Auctions and is focusing on its 'Stores'. It's a shame because they have something good that I feel would really blossom if they'd stop hurting it. I've seen my sales drop after the category fiasco and now with the new traffic streaming away from Auctions. My sales are down over 80% which is quite large as I run over 1000+ live auctions per week.
Maybe, a smart business person will see an opportunity and create a more seller friendly auction site. Ebay is putrid and if someone took the basics of what Amazon does do so well and focus on the auction element I know I for one would be there.
For now though I'm going to stick it through with Amazon, at least until after the holidays.

I think Amazon is slowly but surely hiding, then dumping Auctions as a major interest. I think it's a major failure and they didn't want a reminder on their front page with its own tab. They stuffed in inside a list to make it invisible in plain sight.
I think Amazon Auctions died from self-inflicted wounds. I'm deeply shocked.

Amazon will be remembered as the first major on-line auction to deliberately destroy their sellers.
Argued with them for the last month and they simply do not care. The Tabs, Cross-Links,etc.....Deliberate and calculated.
They will lose in the end though. We all have web pages and numerous other options. They don't.
