I used to bid alot on Amazon, but over the past year it has gotten harder and harder to find unique merchandise amidst the companies loading the site with new closeouts, etc.

If I want that, I'll go to Odd Lots or Costco. What happened to all the sellers with unique things, good books and antiques?

You guys out there?

I didn't have the stuff you are looking for, but no, I gave it a try for about 2 months and my last auction is off now. It was a waste of my time for the most part. On the other hand, ebay is chugging right along.

It's like ships passing in the night.

I'm struggling with the new look Amazon. I used to be able to find things with no trouble, now every page brings up alot of new stuff I don't want, and very little I do.

I stopped putting things up on Amazon for the same reason you tired of it. I decided that there was too much mass junk for people to have to slog through to get to a worthwhile and/or unique auction. I also was annoyed by the Search engine that brought up everything unrelated including the kitchen sink.

201 great feedbacks, the first one recieved on 4/26/99, the last one recieved 9/6/99. That last sale was a fluke... a relist of an item that didnt sell for months and finely got a bid.

At anyrate, I'm done with Amazon. I had what basicaly amounted to one good year, made some money and met some fine folks too. but after z-shops, well sales just died.

I had hopes Amazon and I working together to give ebay a run for its money, but that was not to be. Took all my interesting collectables, books and dinnerware and went back to ebay, Yahoo, and now epier.

So it goes, Thanks Amazon, it was fun while it lasted.

Well, it feels like Amazon and I are starting to adjust to each other again. I'm selling more... maybe just enough sellers left to leave me the customers

I went to look at epier.com and it doesn't look anymore exciting than anyplace else. If you like it there, try Popula -- at least they have a following. I sold an item there once for a dollar.

I have to agree with Valerie. My sales shot up this week. I blasted a bunch of dollar deals and gave it a good try and had better than expected results.

I think that basically there's a demand for Amazon auctions whether Amazon wants them or not.

Yahoo gave me $1500 in feature credits for my 1500+ rating on Amazon. I'm trying a few auctions out. While Yahoo has improved its interface, it's still a bit goofy.

Amazon still offers the best interface of any of the auction sites and still has the best support although I just recieved an email reply to a question that took a week to answer...

I wish things would improve a bit more, but we're still selling on Amazon. I just wish Amazon would understand that they could be the best game in town if they wanted to be.

Nice to see some positive comments here again.
