Hey guys, new to the board, but I'm a four-year veteran of eBay, Yahoo, and Amazon. Look forward to exchanging some worthwhile info.

When I was on Amazon today, I couldn't help but notice that zShop items are no longer listed when you do a search from the Amazon homepage. Take this plus the virtual elimination of cross-links, and it appears that they are on the verge of eliminating Auctions and zShops altoghther. Too bad, I had high hopes for them. Looks like I'll have to move my efforts back to eBay and Yahoo for the near future.

We moved out of Amazon last summer, basically got tired of them promoting themselves and illegally cancelling auctions with bidders on them, they were basically shilling for the other sellers IE= cancelled a third Reich coin because it offended someone, meanwhile there were more of the same coins for sale of which the bidders I had were able to bid and buy from someone else right there in Amazon. They were also selling books on Nazi's and Third Reich but what amazon told me via the 800 number was that books are educational, coin and stamp collecting is not. I can't even find auctions or zshops in amazon now, I dont want to buy from Amazon I can get better prices at the Mall, I live too close to LA to pay their prices. Bidding in auctions and buying in zshops was the only thing I liked about selling and buying in Amazon. I really feel bad for the sellers who have put everything into Amazon to make it work. Amazon even made me change my nickname after a year which used to be Amazongrace, because I was infringing on their rights.

Yahoo has been much better for me, after putting out up to $500 a month to sell in Amazon only to be stabbed in the back I have a better attitude when yahoo has the few little site downtimes or listing problems. Yahoo fixes it without shutting down auctions completely so you can only shop in there stores to promote themselves like Amazon does.

I went in to their main site and typed Joan Wolf Golden girls : before I would receive 3 z shops + 3 auctions + a chance to view all auctions etc. Now all I get is there book that Amazon is selling: big change for auctions as I haven't even seen the auction tap for auctions this week. I was just about to list more items but will have to watch the items I am selling. Another disappointment! All it would take to make Amazon auctions successful again would be to have an auction tap + end auctions by ending date! NOt too brainy on my part! I wish Amazon would just say: sorry no more auctions! but of course, now and again I make a great sale and keep listing. (not suzam on auction site)

Hey ROLL: How did you ever manage to spend $500 in fees on Amazon?? It's virtually impossible?

Yeah, yeah, Amazon sucks and they've cut off traffic to auctions but you have to adjust or go. It's simple. I don't think they really listen to sellers anyway.

At this point I think they're fighting for profitablility. I or you may not agree with how they do it but this is life.

Work harder dude!

Safe New Years All!!

The default search has always been Books, but if you choose All Products, it returns the auction and zshop items as suz23 described.

Hey DUDE

I'm A dude' ette, maybe that's why it's possible?

"Bid for feature placement" and amazon's one click processing fee's, pro merchant is only $40. Some of the catagories we use had to be featured just to get it on the first page, Amazon wont expand the catagories for the simple reason they make more on bid for feature placement that way. The more pages of an item the more you have to spend to get it in a decent spot.

There are sellers(if there are any left) spending much, much more then that, $500 is peanuts to them and as you say when you dont agree move on and I did. Amazon lost the guaranteed money, I didn't.

It's just too bad that Amazon wont give auction sellers the same respect given to amazon by the sellers and tell them Why they are illiminating Auctions and Z-shops.

It more then likely has to do with international shipping and prohibited products, If I sell something I am unaware of being prohibited such as pork bellies or a butane lighter (which is prohibited in most countries) then customs were to decide to inspect it, I can plead innocent because I am selling under Amazon's seller aggreement
Amazon is in trouble not me.

So I can't really blame Amazon, it's just how they go about it in an un ethical manner.
Like a Slumlord grabbing the last rent checks the day before he tells tennants the city is condeming the building.

Thanks Valeriet: I went to the Amazon.com from auctions and typed in joan wolf and auctions and z shops listing showed up! What a relief as I feature most of my auctions and they appeared. ( sorry for the spelling errors in previous thread. When I re-read my message, I thought that surely this person doesn't have a university degree! Happy New Year, everyone and have a safe one! Thanks for all your comments throughout this past year of rollercoasting on amazon. Suz23
