Just received this email (which basically reads you can't sell on Amazon any longer unless you have access to US address and possess a US Bank account.)

Gee, thanks AMAZON!!!

Dear Amazon.com Auction Seller,

Thank you for participating in Amazon.com Auctions. There are some
important changes we're about to roll out that will improve Auctions
for both you and your buyers. These improvements will be implemented
in the coming weeks, and we want to let you know in advance. We will
contact you again with firm dates prior to implementation.

In this message:

* Important Amazon.com Payments information
* Global seller preferences
* Completion fees

1. Important Amazon.com Payments Information

Buyers have shown that they overwhelmingly prefer using Amazon.com
Payments.
To accommodate your buyers and simplify your selling experience, we will be requiring all merchants to register for Amazon.com Payments. This service makes it easier for buyers to purchase your sold auction listings and for you to collect their
payments. Most of the items currently available on Amazon.com
Auctions are already "Amazon.com Payments enabled.

Or register for your Payments Account today (if you're not already
Amazon.com Payments enabled):

Here are several very important things to note:

a) In order to be eligible for Amazon.com Payments, you must have access to a U.S. address and a U.S. bank account.

b) You will still be able to accept alternative payment methods, such as credit card through a merchant account, check, money order, and escrow.

It goes on and on....

They may have done you a favor, Canada. Did you read the part about the 5% completion fee? Goodness. What next?

I just signed up for a merchant account for $40.00 and now they tell me I can't sell anything after the 17th. I can't believe it. Regardless of how low my sales were , they were much higher than ebay on certain books! I am really disappointed! FROM A CANADIAN!

What is going on? First Yahoo, and now Amazon. I decided to pull out of Yahoo because of the new listing costs, and now Amazon no longer wants Canadian sellers. I have started listing on AuXpal, easy to use, and FREE, for now anyway. Give it a try, the more people use it, the better it will be.

They are not saying that if you are Canadian you can't sell on Amazon---but you HAVE to have access to a USA adress and have a US Bank account.---which for most people is a major pain in the tush

Hi zazzie: I dont have a us address and they don't accept my us bank account number without having a us address. I dont know how to get a us address as I am too far from the border to have an address there. It is very disappointing to me and I feel that yes amazon auctions is limiting their site to Americans and not allowing other people into sell. Ebay at least gave you a choice for billpoint and I signed up for it ( it was made available to canadians ) and I love it! If you know of a way for me to have a us address let me know . Suzanne

You're right---Amazon payments needs to take some lessons from Billpoint. But at least EBAY doesn't make you sign up BILLPOINT.

It is very very uncool of Amazon to pull this---instead of saying we only want USA sellers--they pull this.
