I just listed some items on Amazon's Marketplace for the first time. Is there some sort of suspend or vacation hold for when you go out of town. All I can find is an option to close a listing. That would seem to mean that you have to manually remove each listing and then manually re-enter each listing when you come back. But, surely I am missing something.

For what it's worth, I recently emailed support to point out the need for this feature and got this reply: "I can certainly see the value of an "on hold" feature and will forward your comments to the product developers."
It may have got their attention because I pointed out that Half.com offers this function.

Don't get too excited mrstee, I made this suggestion months ago when half.com first came out. (For Z-shops, not MarketPlace obviously.) I got a similar reply.

I also emailed Amazon yesterday about this same issue. No response yet. I'll post their answer when I get it.

well, four days later I finally received this reply from sellers-support @amazon.com
Dear XXXX,
Greetings from Amazon.com and thank you for writing.
Unfortunately, we don't have a special vacation feature that will allow a person to temporarily suspent[sic] their listings. I do hope you can find someone to take care of your listings while you're away.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us again. Thank you for your interest in Amazon.com.
Best regards,
Kelly M.

well, Kelly, I certainly hope I can find someone too or I'll never be able to go out of town or take a day off. Sheesh.

I called and sent 2 emails to support on this issue. I had to cancel all my auctions (over 2000!) and relist when I got back from my homeymoon. PLEASE write Amazon and tell them we need this feature. We are independent merchants not mega corporations.
It's the only thing I like about half.com.
It's obvious that Auctions are not a priority at Amazon.
