Head's up! I've spent 2 days on and off the phone with customer support regarding Pro-Merchants who are just now signing up for Amazon payments to meet the 2/15 deadline.
According to what I've been told, any auctions that are not coded for Amazon payments will be deleted from the system after 2/15. The seller-support page reads to say that Amazon will automatically code your individual auctions to enable Amazon payments but this is NOT TRUE, as of right now you have to MANUALLY adjust all your auctions before the 15th. For pro- merchants, that can mean revising hundreds of listings in less than a week. I've talked to 3 different customer support reps in the last 2 days and I've gotten 3 different answers. No one seems to be totally sure of what is going to happen and what provisions have been made (looks like NONE) to enable the seller to make a smooth transition to the new payment system that we are being FORCED to offer. The seller success page now says that they will not relist uncoded auctions after the 15th, it did NOT say that this morning.
I have NO idea what's happening with Z-shops and Marketplace.
Here's a paste of my email today from customer support, this is paragraph 1 and 3 from the SAME REP,SAME EMAIL
"First, our system will *not* automatically close your listings.
Further, since they are present set to re-list after they close, it's
our understanding that the system will re-list them so that they will
be enabled with Amazon.com Payments, and so that they reflect your
most current Seller Preferences.Second, since the system will essentially do this work for you, it's
my further understanding that you need not do anything to your account
to manually facilitate these changes. The system will do your work
for you."
and..............
"Third, as I mentioned during our phone conversation today, your
listings have not been showing changes made in your Seller Preferences
because our system does not update those automatically upon
re-listing closed auctions. For this reason, an Auctions listing
needs to be manually closed; then, when the listing is manually
re-listed, the changes made to your Seller Preferences will show."
The seller preferences are where you set your payment terms (including Amazon payments) and also your auction terms. Mine have NEVER updated on relisted auctions.

Well, I FINALLY got a clear answer and here's a paste of the applicable part of the email I received. I'm sorry for you Canadian sellers, this really stinks but it looks like if you sign up they won't cancel your auctions so you'll buy enough time to get your accounts set up (hopefully).
"Even though you modified your Seller
Preferences, your current auction listings will not show the Amazon.com Payments option, as they were not created with that option. To have the Payments option enabled on your listings at this point in
time, you will need to manually edit or close and relist your auctions.
However, if you wish to wait until February 15th for your listings to be updated, our system will be retroactively modifying sellers' listings on the site to reflect Amazon.com Payments. Thus, your listings will then be Payments enabled as required.
As you have completed the Amazon.com Payments registration, none of your listings will be cancelled. They will remain on the site until they sell, or you close them.
