I went onto Bibliofind today and filled out some info about myself, then sent it off. They said I'd get an email with a secret code or something that would allow me to start listing. So far, nothing. Is this usual?

Yes, it is not instantaneous. I think it took 2 days before I got the email information from them. Looks like a good site though.

HI Valerie - I'd like to hear how it works for you if you decide to list there. I noticed some books the other day that weren't OP or vintage or anything like that. Just solid hardcover cookbooks. Interesting. I don't have a clue what sort of folks shop there, though.
I've checked them for the rare "must have" book but the prices were usually too high or by the time I contacted them, the book had been sold to someone else and they didn't bother removing their record.
I also noticed some listings for OP books in a series that I know is VERY hot on ebay. I was surprised to see them sitting there, though they were already priced at the outer limit or beyond what they'd get on ebay. Plus, no photo. I'd be tempted to buy for resale on ebay except that there would be precious little room for profit.

I was on Bibliofind for about 2 1/2 years and just took my books off the site this past December.
I reregistered last week and got my welcome to Bibliofind email on Saturday. I uploaded about 2500 books more or less and am still waiting for them to appear on Bibliofind.
Bibliofind (now owned by Amazon) was an excellent site when I first put my books there (I think in 1998). But after Amazon bought them, my orders seemed to drop.
As a "free" site, it is definitely worth listing on. Amazon's out of print dept. searches Bibliofind first to fill orders for their OP customers. Also, Bibliofind reaches many overseas customers and is searched by many book search services and other book dealers.
Try it. What have you got to lose (especially if you don't have to put your credit card on file there.)--Donny
