howdy folks I sell on several auction sites and finally decided to give Amazon auctions a try this week. My question concerns proper category placement for my books. I'm kind of confused. Where would I list a signed first edition? I put it in the "rare-modern first edition" category, it is a modern first, but not actually rare, so I'm not sure if it's in the right location...any advice from the Amazon experts?

personally......... I list 'em under same category I would if unsigned, be sure to put 'signed by author' in title bar and prominently in the description also.

Rare/Modern First Editions or Rare/with appropriate category. Some first editions, such as in the business categories, are not collected for their first edition status. But the author's signature moves it into the rare classification. Make sure you mention in the title bar and in the first few words of text that is is signed. That way if someone is searching for "signed editions" it will be brought up by the search engines. If it is buried in the text in the descriptions, it might not be brought up. Make sure you link with the Amazon editions or with similar Amazon books (such as by same author, or by same topic), as it will increase your exposure. Consider listing it on Marketplace, even with the higher fees, as Marketplace sells. Oh, welcome aboard!
Thank you for your business! Marilyn
