Hi soldit2,

I back out SOOOOO fast when I see a description in all caps and NO breaks.

It is very hard on the eyes.

And you know what...I've noted that most these sellers are veterans of the trade with high feedback.

GO FIGURE!

I agree that the ordering and shipping TOS should come at the end of the ad – why bombard someone with that info before they even know if they wish to purchase/bid –

BUT perhaps this seller has encountered the myriad of the same buyers many of us have and that is the buyer who only looks at pictures, never reads the ad, never reads the TOS, and then either has endless questions, or complains after the fact….

Perhaps the capitals are a desperate attempt to get the buyers to read their TOS....probably in vain, but at least they are trying!

It must work for this seller as he has over 1700 pos with only 1neg and 7 nuetrals. I do agree it is very hard on the eyes.

Yea packer, this seller has a great rating...
however, the description is soooooooo hard to read, and gives me that 'uneasy' feeling when I try to read it so that I would probably never bid!

JWPC, it is at the end of the description, but there is only 6 words describing the item that I was looking at!

>perhaps this seller has encountered the myriad of the same buyers many of us have <

From the wording I would guess that this seller has run into a few more bad ones than any of us have!

I guess more & more people are getting fed up with the problem ebuy'rs that have been showing themselves as of late.

If they think that sort of a TOS will help the situation, I can't blame them for trying.

But, in the same light, it has stopped me from bidding also.
Although there is nothing that I must have from ebay, there are things that I like to bid on.
This seller had a few of interest to me.

No real loss to either of us, I guess.

The goal on eBay is not high feedback. Just try and buy a coffee with that. High feed back means that you have run lots and lots of auctions without PO'ing too many people.

The goal really is to maximixe profits. IMHO, TOS like that is harmful to a seller.

I found it very interesting this seller wants to charge an extra $1 for items shipped to a business address.

I have an account with UPS and shipments to business addresses are ALWAYS cheaper than residential!

Aside from the obvious all caps and being forced to look at this before you get to the 6 word description......... What I don't get is what kind of insurance costs $5.00 ?

Good grief, this is one unhappy frustrated seller. Sometimes when I open an auction page and the first thing I see is 20 point red type in caps with either veiled threats, (or sometimes direct threats) about receiving payment in 48.2 seconds after the auction ends, in cash, by carrier pigeon, or this sort of excruciating hyperbole that goes on and on.... I wonder why these people sell on eBay. If someone is frustrated or unhappy to this point, then I don't understand why they don't find something else to do. Could you imagine living with some of these folks after an auction ends and a buyer doesn't follow the letter of their law?

But the real incredulity is that people actually buy stuff from these people. I can't think of anything I want that much.

I also curious to know what the weather has to do with discretion.

soldat2, Please edit out the portion of your original post that contains information that could identify an individual - namely the copy of the seller's TOS.

If you are unable to do so within the next 30 minutes, I will have to delete your post, which would delete the entire topic as it's the first post in this thread.

Thanks for your cooperation,
