Well, it's probably too little, too late but at least it is something.
Those of us who left by the droves from the arrogance of AW demanding a cut of our auction revenue have by now found something at least as good and probably better.
I won’t be coming back, but it is nice to see that AW finally came around to our way of thinking. Maybe they got hungry?
At least it may help some of the ones who could not change for one reason or another.
I’m really doing this to bump this subject up since it met with a big HO HUM when it was put on at 5pm yesterday.

I don't see a good deal here myself. When I left AW I figured out how to host my own pictures.........and I get everything else for what works out to be $10.00 a month. It has auction templates ~ and the ability to schedule listings and has a complete post management system.........it does not relist.....but then there is another company that will relist for just pennies......

would paying these expensive premium rates eliminate pop-ups ads?
No?
Thanks anyway.
These rates are pretty costly when you add in eBay's fees, Paypal's fees. et all.
It is easier to use a free image hosting service and free template service.

I like the Message Center at AW, thank you. However, I'd never be a paying customer for expensive services I do myself - and enjoy doing.
Why don't you add a membership fee for the Message Center, I'd get more work done!

Why can't you be a little more honest with your "General sales profile" column? I'm not easily swayed by your average sales price figures... but others could be easily taken in. Let's compare two of your programs for an example... the Premium Variable-rate vs. The Premium Flat rate. You state that you should use the variable rate instead of the flat rate if your items sell under $40.00. This calculation is FALSE!!! If you use the variable rate for items that average between $15.00 and higher... you are better off using the flat-rate! While you are charging different monthly fees for the power-plan, the same logic applies.
For your chart to be more mathematically sound advice, your columns should be changed as follows:
Premium Plan Variable Rate: Typical Average Selling price = Under $15.00.
Premium Plan Flat Rate: Typical Average Selling price= Over $15.00
Power Plan Variable Rate: Typical Average Selling Price=Under $8.00
Power Plan Flat-Rate: Typical Average Selling Price=Over $8.00
Now of course this doesn't take into account totally the difference in the monthly subscription costs.... BUT, at least it gets it closer to realistic information. PLEASE change the information in your chart to reflect the TRUE savings. Your chart now is misleading at best... and misrepresentation at worst. This is the second time I have noticed mathematically unsound statements posted in your pricing plans. Just as a curiousity... do you have any mathematicians currently working for you? Should I submit my resume?
edited to recheck my math... I'd suggest you do the same to yours AuctionWatch!

I find these "new prices" as bad as ever. I pay $120/year for the same options (listing, pic hosting, etc) through another service. And that service does not charge ANY listing or ANY final value fees.
Getting the same services through AuctionWatch would cost me $480.00 at the very LEAST!
Hmm... $120 vs. $480+....
I think I'll pass..

What's unfortunate is that when AW goes under, the message board will as well. I can't believe people would pay these prices for image hosting, and auction management. I can get a dependable 40 meg web site for $7, and us seller assistant for $5, that is less than the lowest monthly fee, and NO cut of my auction. Paypal and Ebay take enough out!

Wow, Now I understand why I don't see as may people useing Auction watch like I use to.
$131.00 can get you a domain name with 200 meg of space for a year, and that's just with the first hosting company I found when I did a search, i'm sure there are cheaper ones. I think I'll just stick with the message board.

I am a power seller with about 1,000 listings a month...do they have people who actually pay for what they offer? I am really confused by all this. Pics are hosted by my ISP at no additional cost (5 megs), I use a free bulk listing tool that has nice templates and easy to relist and I will have to start paying for post-management which is about $10/month. Can someone please explain to me why anyone would pay that much for what is being offered, am I missing something? Someone please help, I must be going about this all wrong.

I would say this is useful for people who want to sell but do not understand how web hosting, domains, FTP, HTML, or JPG works. Some just want to sell and do not want to or are afraid to learn the technical parts of online selling. Compared to the other listing programs, AuctionManager does a very good job. I appreciate their ability to keep categories up to date, easy image hosting, and the ability to batch upload to three different auction sites.

I agree that if someome only sells occassionally, AW might be a good way to go, however if someone sells more than a few items a month I cannot imagine someone not taking the time to find a FREE or inexpensive image hosting place.
If someone doesn't know how to create an auction template, you can list without one.
Personally, I do not know squat about domains or FTP.
I use a place with free image hosting, free auction templates and free counters. This place also offers premium services with fantastic services (post auction stuff and schedualling) for $5 and $10 a month, I just use the free services. Unfortunatly I can't mention this place because it is in competition with AW, but if you search the web for these services you will easily find the place.
I run about 10 auctions a week (give or take) on a regular basis and I would rather not pay for things I don't absolutly have to.
I have to pay Ebay listing and final value fees and I have to pay Paypal fees but I do not have to pay for image hosting or doing my templates.
Isn't taking a few hours to learn how to do these things yourself worth it?

Hello Everyone,
I have deleted 2 posts that were promoting a competitor to AuctionWatch.com.
Also, in the first post you will see mention that admin is asking for comments to be made in another forum. One can assume they want to be able to organize the thoughts of the membership in one place.
Here is the URL

Then why did you even start the thread here in the first place?
BTW the name of the other place listed (and was deleted) came up as a dead link.

Moderator Joice!!
Note: Please direct responses to this announcement to this thread so that we may easily monitor your comments in one area.
What part of this thread don't you understand??
If you really wanted us to respond elsewhere why didn't you say so??
This is so typical of AW being too close to the subject to understand that we cannot read your mind!

I guess it's always better for responses to a questionable business practice to be hidden behind as many layers of a website as possible.
You can't even see a mention of the Feedback forum from the Main Message Board page.

Hello everyone....
Who are the competitors? Where do I turn to? I like the relative ease of AW, but the message board complaints are a reality.... Please email me directly with advice since AW can't take the heat.

Yes, I hate to be a bother to the experienced sellers on this board, but I have been trying to get my ISP web space to work and haven't been able to get my photos to show up and I am a fairly new seller trying to get things going and can't afford more fees right now. So if anyone can please e-mail me with the services mentioned that have free image hosting and templates it would be very much appreciated. I know you guys are busy though...

I have a idea for a service that I would love to pay for. Why not have a Showcase like Active does but pull items off some of the free auction sites too.
Showcase= Little Pictures of what's for sale.
I have items all over the place and would love to have a showcase that could show all the items I have for sale.
Something to think about.
First company to offer such a service will get my CASH every month.

fees at an all time high, and sales at an all time low doesn't make for a very profitable business. This is the first month in almost 2 years that I can't pay all the bills so I'm loading up the Credit Cards with fees. It's time to kiss the auctions goodbye.
eBay fees are like being slowly pecked to death by chickens!!!
