Not very exciting if you ask me. We've sold a few things there, always dirt cheap. One item we got 1.00 for and the same item brought 18.00 on ebay. Woo hoo!

Please tell me it'll get better even if you have to lie.

I've only sold two items there, one was a deadbeat bidder and the other sold for a buck! Maybe that's why the ! is there??
I had better luck on Amazon in the past when ebay wasn't doing well.

When Yahoo! buys eBay, it'll probably get a little bit better!

I have had good luck at both yahoo and ebay for sure I stopped looking at them a competition long ago and simply as a way of doubleing my exposure and sales.

I have sold hundreds of item on ebay and made a few thousand dollars at it. when I get to the point where i can afford to list thousands of item at ebay Im sure I will be able to say I have made thousands there.

it wont be long im not saying ebay is outragiously priced Im saying I am not willing to risk an amount of money that would put my sales out of business if it failed.

They seem to run them selfs on there own profit why take money from my family budget or get back into haveing a credit card and building debit again to do it.

yahoo sells it just takes some learning and the right Items.

Yahoo has defintely earned a place of honor with me. Many of my bidders are eBayers.

I have had only one oddball who retal neg'd me, but that's life.

I've been looking around at Yahoo as a place to sell my inexpensive books. Why should I pay a 25-cent listing fee, plus 10 cents commission, for a $1.99 book? I HAVE noticed that on Yahoo, you really need to start the item at a price you'd be happy with, because many items (I've looked almost exclusively at books, so other categories maybe different), end with just one bid. So you can't do the eBay strategy of starting at $1.00 and letting the bids roll in - 'cause they won't. On the plus side, Yahoo is looking better (price-wise) than they were a year ago. I found many books that brought the same kinds of prices they would have brought on eBay. Now whether or not they were "sold" to a deadbeat bidder or not is another matter!

mballai:

There is another good point why ebay sellers shouldnt down yahoo or the other way around many of the buyers on yahoo are ebay buyers.

you are downing the buyer from your own sales on ebay that shop yahoo. the only real loyalty at ebay seems to be some sellers.

and many times go for the better deal at yahoo get there imtem one bid wins no biding war inflating prices no staying up to watch for last min bids.

as well lots of ebay buyer are finding there niche at yahoo and though still listing both places and slowly reduceing there listings at ebay and spending less to run there business. I dont think Ebay will ever get to the point where it doesnt get its share but many are finding yahoo works for them

I do good on Yahoo with item that i put a buy price on. I get as much as i get on eBay and pay no fees.
I do good on eBay with the odd items and higher priced items.

I registered at Y about a year ago during another moment of frustration with eBay.

Just cut and pasted a few listings from eBay for items I had in quanity. Never did much business but it was some extra sales and a place to let off steam when I wanted to get away from e.

Then about two months ago I was encouraged to give it a more serious try by others who were sharing about their success and the need to have less dependence on e.

Had to read the site instructions, the Y board here at AW and ask questions. Y has a lot of options not available on eBay that I had to learn to use. I also think Y has a different pattern of sales and customer base.

I'm using mostly 1st Bid Wins and have had a 12 sales, $700 week with 60% net profit but also weeks with little or no sales.

I'll know more in six months but I am definate it is a profitable additional site when combined with e listings. I haven't even started to make use of the classified, booth or store options and by scrolling listings and completed sales I'm starting to understand how many sellers are running very successful businesses on Y.

Not an either/or for me. Just a second strong option for me to learn to use. Free for basic listings but short on service.

Whenever eBay is creating problems due to site unstability or other factors, I jump over to Y and spend some productive time. Helps the wallet and keeps my attitude more positive.
