Is it just me, or is eBay really really quiet this weekend?

I listed over 40 items last Thursday and am patiently waiting for bids.

Where are all the bidders?!?!?

Definitely slower than usual... I anticipate things picking up tomorrow evening.

I've been reading this board for a while and it always says never end your auctions on a holiday weekend. So this time I started all my auctions Thursday night for 10 days. That way I could get the people who didn't go anywhere this weekend and thought they might get a bargain since everybody else is away, but also I will still have next weekend for everyone to look. I have had bids like usual on the "hot" items and it has been slow on the "medium" stuff which usually goes at the last minute anyway. Cheer up because tomorrow is another day and also winter is coming to these parts anyway which will greatly improve sales.

My holiday weekend sales are GREAT!! It wasn't a holiday to that person in Australia that paid $52 for that CD that I picked up at yard sale for a quarter!!!

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!

Well, this thread certainly makes me feel much better than the other related thread about how GREAT things have been for the last several weeks. Maybe I just chose to start listing at an unusually busy and wonderful time on Ebay, but my Ebay sales have STUNK in comparison for the last couple of weeks. I've seen a bit more activity over the last 4 days, but nothing like before. Glad to know that some others are still experiencing a slow down. I'm hoping that things will pick up again when the weather changes and drives people back indoors!

I am new to selling on ebay but I sell on yahoo, most all of my auctions do not get bids until the last day ( mostly the last hour) It can jump from 5.00 to 30.00 in no time.

I listed 28 items Sat. night and in the first 24 hours had 58 bids. I listed 6 more last night....serach is down, gallery was down. Not even any lookers on those items and I listed one of them in "feature category" I'M BUMMED!

I finally figured out "preacher4u's" personal gallery trick.... but my new listings are not coming up in my "personal gallery" I'M BUMMED!!

Thank you "preacher4u" for that WONDERFUL idea. I'm sure thats how and why I received so my bids on my first 28 items, that and the fact I've been starting everything at $1.00.

Having a BAD hair momemt! ...

I signed up for Paypal last week and wanted to purchase a few things to see how it works, how my account page works, etc.

Searching Ebay since Friday has been a pain in the backside. I regularly search the descriptions, not just titles, for my home county or ancestor's areas. I am OK when I
just pull up title search lists, but when I
do description searches [the best way to go for me] I do not get the current prices or bids.

Haven't purchased anything yet! Frustration sets in after 15 minutes or so, and I give up. Hope something is done soon. I remember seeing something about search problems, but have been reading about international sales, 3rd party payments, etc and haven't read what is happening with Ebay. Guess I had better! Wonder if others are giving up after
a while? LabRat
