Not officially according to Ebay rules,
but sometimes, I sell a bunch,
but not the whole year.
I'm more a power sniper
Not DaMNiT on eBay!

I am, but I don't advertise the fact, so you didn't hear it from me.

I am, but the only place it's mentioned is on my "Me" page. I've even thought about removing it from there.

I am also, but don't advertise it much. I used to put it in all my auctions, but as of late, I hardly ever do.

How do you all do it?? I looked up the requirements and the minimum is $2000 in sales a month and at least 100 feedback a month.
I have been building up my business for 6 to 8 months now, and can't imagine that much business by myself. Do you all have help? Or maybe have easy to ship items? I have pottery and glassware that take a lot of time to pack. How many items do you have to list? What sort of profit percentage do you have? Sorry for all the questions, I don't want any personal info, just ideas.
Please forgive my ignorance, I am learning a lot from you all on this message board.
I am very impressed with you all! You are the leaders of this group! Congrats for doing so well!
One last question - why don't you want to have the Power Seller Logo on your auctions or Me Page?
Thanks!
Potential just means you haven't done it yet!

I recently put the PS logo on my ME page.
Not sure if I'll keep it there or not?
Never on my auction listings.
Catryn ..... You don't need to get a 100 feedback a month. You need to have a minimum of 100 feedback in total.

Catryn: The reason why I don't have the powerseller thing on my auctions is because, alot of other sellers/bidders at ebay, think we get alot of special priviledges for being a powerseller and we get slammed back on the ebay chat boards for just being a powerseller.
Although we do get some priviledges, we don't get alot, what some don't realize is that we are held to higher standard, IE: feedback ratios-must be maintained, and sales also must be maintained.
But it's just not worth getting slammed and emailed to death just because I am a powerseller. So I don't post it any more. I just got tired of the hastle.

I'm a powerseller and get lots of privileges.
I get grief from SafeHarbor, constant email from Customer Surveys, an erstwhile Powerseller Newsletter and limp powerseller support and promises, and the all-too-apparent message from Meg and Pierre that as soon as they can spot a trend or successful products, that they'll entice a brick-and-mortar company to take the business away from powersellers.
Ahhh yes, privilege does have its rewards!

I put the logo at the bottom of my auction page but I probably won't bother now. I didn't sell all summer so I may not be a powerseller anymore. I bought over 100 items this summer and some of the slowest mailings were from powersellers. I guess some are too busy to handle it all? I wasn't always that impressed with the packaging either. With all the sales you would think they would like to project a better image?

I am a Power Seller and also do not advertise it. It is in my ME page.
I sell tools and some antiques & collectibles.
I work 7 days a week either selling or out looking to buy. My average day is about 14 hours.
I do remember waiting for answers to emails from eBay for days. Now i usualy get answers in a few hours so i guess it does have some benifits.

I'm also a powerseller(gold) who doesn't advertise it. I don't think it helps sales, and may even hurt. In my case it's because of quality, not quantity. I usually list 30-40 auctions a week. Work 10-12 hour days. Good, quick, and courteous customer service is real important. One big advantage I do find is the phone number. Instant contact, and 99.9% of all problems can be resolved in minutes. I mainly wish that sales would improve. They're way down from last year. Supply/demand equation on Ebay is not good for sellers(power or otherwise)

I recall dealing with a Power Seller not too long ago. The transaction was satisfactory but not exceptional in any way. Since the stature is based on a dollar amount, that shows where eBay's main thinking is at. I would like to see eBay reward sellers on their level of service not just their level of sales. Of course that might be impossible as their own service functionality is subject to frequent outages.
