Aren't there some issues over Cuban items? Does anyone know the rules?
I have a trinket from 1953 plus a photo album with vacation pictures. I don't know if Cuban items are allowed or where to find out (other than the 6 day wait for an ebay reply).

From my experience you can forget listing anything that says "Cuba" on ebay. You might try them on yahoo tho. I have considered having an ebay listing that says "small widget from a country south of Florida"...But I'm sure the ebay police would bust me for that too

eBay seems to be a lot more relaxed about this at the moment, but if you are concerned, put the words:
"pre castro - pre embargo" somewhere near the top of your auction.

As I understand it ,it is still legal to sell pre-embargo Cigars in the U.S. (yep believe it or not People actually have 40 year old Cigars that Are Still Smokeable!!), so I see NO problem with your 1953 item.

We can thank the government rather than Ebay for most of this mess with Cuban items. Both Ebay, AND sellers, get caught in the middle.
Ebay has a page on Cuban items, somewhere in that maze, that seemed pretty clear the last time I read it. Dated and pre-castro/embargo you are on pretty safe ground. Undated items can be problematic.
Post Embargo items are way to much trouble to deal with. Don't even bother.

I just went and looked in Safe Harbor under "Embargoed countries" and the rules are pretty clear. Photographs should be under the heading of informational items as related to the embargo and should not present a problem.
But, go look for yourself to be real certain about the rules - Its one of Ebay's better explainations

I have a family member who travels regularly to Cuba. He brings back items for sale. Sometimes he can post them and get all through the auction successfully. Sometimes he gets booted right away. It's a hit or miss thing.
If he gets booted and the item has bids, he contacts the bidders and sometimes makes the sale outside of eBay.
