What does this mean?

ÿþ>

I have one bidder that keeps emailing me and this is all that is in her emails. After the EOA email I sent her, this is what I got in her email.

I asked her to please reply again because I didn't know what she meant to say with this little --- ÿþ> -- thingee.

She then replyed and told me payment was on the way. She has now emailed me 2 more times with this little thingee as the entire email.

What am I missing here?

I believe that is some kind of a glitch within Outlook Express 5. It's not a virus or anything like that. It shows up on newsgroup posts also.

Thanks Meya. It seems to take the whole body of her meassage away. Unless she isn't typing anything. LOL Does the glitch do that?

I just got a blank message from a customer and must admit it took a bit before I realized that his message was contained in the subject line - #XXXXXXXXX sent pmt 9/5. Is that what's happening with you?

No. The subject line just has the auction item listed there.

I am totally confused.

It may have to do with your email program. When I first started using IE5 This happened sometimes when I sent email. the default setting in IE5 is rich text not plain text. People who were using text only email were getting the yp thing. I had to set my outgoing email to plain text so all could receive it.

I don't use IE in any version.

But maybe the sender does and it somehow arrives to me this way??
