I just did a NPB alert yesterday due to a late paying bidder, and in turn got an email
from his wife this morning stating to go ahead and re-sell the item since her husband
"suddenly" had a heart attack over the weekend - must have been all that bidding he's been doing!
I guess someone else got the same message -
they went ahead and negged him - I'll be doing the same...

Did the email state that he had in fact died from his apparent heart troubles?
If not then maybe people are jumping the gun here.
Just some food for thought.

I seem to remember a member here who reacted very strongly to an email from the spouse of a winning bidder. It turned out that the women had in fact died, which a copy of the obit confirmed.
The seller (member here) was mortified, and felt horrible.
Mind how you go...

He did die (allegedly) of a heart attack -
but he was still bidding. Just when you think you hear them all...sheesh.

Spyked,
Have you checked to see if they are still bidding..after the weekend?
In all seriousness, you might want to wait & check on that before you proceed with something you could end up regretting.

It is possible that he had used esnipe or some such to place preset bids for him.... Just a thought.

I hope more dead people will use eBay! Oh my sales are going to skyrocket now that the dead are going to bid too! eBay will likely have a billion users by year end!
Seriously though...just neg them, collect your fees from eBay and move on if she has told you they money will not be paid.

I think this guy should be buried in a shower of pure gol dust. Even in death he is still contributing to the economy of his fellow man.

If the dead can still vote (particularily in Chicago), they can probably still bid on ebay. Nothing in the rules says you must have a current pulse.
