I have toyed with ebay off an on for about a year. It took me that long to gather information about cameras, learning about my computer etc. Anyway, within the last two weeks I developed a wonderful strategy on how to sale and its working. The problem is that until I found how to sell, I went hog wild listing items. I got hit with a 1000.00 insertion bill! Arg! I am sick. I can't pay it! I didn't realize I had racked up that many insertions. I emailed ebay and asked them if they would simply cycle the bill on the fifteenth instead of the first, by that time I could pay it. They just said No way, sorry not our problem-somthing to that effect. So, will they simply cut me off? and if they do, once I pay the bill how long does it take to get back on? I'm sick about it.

It was over a period of a month. I sell jewelry. Since I make it all and can mass produce I would list the same item in 10 catagories. That is before I learned about dutch auctions. I am so depressed. Even if I sell dutch, my insertion is automatically 2.00 a pop. Once I switched to dutch, and lowered my prices for volume, I started selling like wild, then I tried about 10 featured auctions. I yeilded between 100 and 300 in sales on the featured. I also have two shops, business went down the toilet because of global warming. It was so hot, even the flys stayed home. Then I got a speeding ticket, hit with a 600 montessori bill, oh it just seems like hell. Needless to say when I saw the bill, I realized I went too far. I spend 1000 and I only made between 4500 and 5000, also in that figure is costs, labor, etc. Shoot me.

Well IF they closed your auctions, and only IF... try Yahoo, they are totally free. (I think they are, at least your basic listings)

I do ya-hoo and I have had a few sales, but I focus on Ebay because that is where the real traffic is. Yes, Yahoo is free and free for a reason, its not so hot. I had read if they present the bill to your account and it won't pay, they will re-submit in three days, so I guess Ihave a little time. Maybe I should try to sell an item that costs a thousand dollars? Wish I had one.

Well, I don't think they will shut down your auctions if you've been on for a year doing this, I *think* they will let it slide to the next month, they have mine one time.

Really, they let you slide? thats encouraging, how did they let you slide? did you contact them? I had not been listing much since I figured they would shut me down. I would appreciate any info. Thanks

No I never contacted them, course I didn't have a bill of $1k.
I think there is a policy of going thru to the next billing cycle. But then you would have a double bill... but yeah I think they let it cycle thru. NOT positive. Well I've been on for 3 years with the same CC, and it happened once that it bounced off my CC, they emailed me, and didn't shut down any auctions, but it just went to the next billing cycle.

You should be getting some money in on your card. Get the payment out to your credit card. You really have done well. I would suggest you have people pay on paypal or some such to get your payments faster. I bid $1,000,000 for the dog!! lol

Ebay allows you three months to pay then they start threatening to close your ebay account, and they will too.

Everytime you list a new item the "auction has begun" page shows what your bill is.
How can you be caught unawares? I spend 1K a month also but it is worth it.
