My daughter gave me a Yahoo magazine and I found the following under "Netsavers".

This program is susposed to block banner-style advertisements thus speeding up download time. Here is the link:

I use it. It blocks banners (and cookies if you so choose). But it doesn't seem to speed up my download time. (But then, I have an old telephone line -- 26,400 bps max.) There are some other quirks, and I haven't taken time to see if it can be fine-tuned to prevent them. For example, my home page on my browser is "My Ebay" -- but since installing Guidescope I get error messages more than half of the time when my browser initially opens. If I click on "home" it will usually load then. I also find that some ebay pages seem to stall while something keeps trying to load, which makes it so I can't view the page unless I hit "escape." (This could be my browser's fault as much as Guidescope's.)
