It's happening again...
I just got an email stating that one of my sales was about to be canceled because I had not confirmed.
I confirmed shipped the book on Monday!
Went to my acct. and have 2 other sales sitting there, and no notice at all.

I received an order for a book I did not list. I tried and tried to get half.com to cancel the order.
I never even received a reply to my repeated e-mails.
I finally had to cancel the order myself so I could explain to the buyer what happened and that it wasn't my mistake , I never HAD the book.
Then I wrote half.com one last time and told them how much like EBAY they were, the same miserable lack of customer support.
Now I have one strike from a cancelled sale against me.

Yeah.. I will probably get rated bad for slow service when I confirmed the order and shipped it all within an hour. Tain't fair, but I know better than to waste time trying to get anyone to intervene.

If you do NOT get a "we got your confirmation" email back from half.com within a couple hours, it means they lost your confirmation.
There is something strange about their confirmation process that they fixed for ME, because I griped SO loudly, and were fixing to make it work for all sellers.

Half.com NEVER answers emails, and ignores all problems you point out to them, like inaccuracies on book listings.
I never got checks to pay for my July sales, and all they emailed (after two weeks and four inquiries from me) was a canned letter a few days ago about their payment schedule.
I put all my listings "on vacation" until I get paid. After reading YOUR problems with them, I think I'll just LEAVE my listings on vacation indefinitely.
Half.com CANNOT WORK if there are glitches in their order/confirmation/accounting system. There is NO ROOM for error there. PERIOD. Their whole system DEPENDS upon the accuracy of computer functions, and they can't afford to let orders go unconfirmed or sellers go without notification of pending sales.
They also can't let emails describing problems or complaints go unanswered, but no one there seems to have figured that out yet.
WHY DOESN'T EBAY ASSIGN SOME OF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE TO THE HALF.COM SITE????????????????

Considering the hefty slice they take from each sale makes me glad I never signed on as a seller with Half.
The bug they are fixing is one that prevents their confirmation process from recognizing the confirmation if it is FROM an email address that is not the confirmation address ... I created a special half.com address, but my outgoing emails by default have a different address and ISP unless I do something special to the mail.

Thanks for the tip abacaxi - but the mails going out have the same return email on them. As of today, I think that in my case the problem was with Yahoo mail being screwy all week.
Still it seems that you have to sign on the reliably confirm and that is time consuming and annoying because of the zillion cookies they toss(I always have to sign in twice for one thing). Because of this I won't sell at half once I run through what is already listed, and I will be glad to be done with it.
