So they (eBay)wanna include our phone numbers in EOA & encourage contact questions by phone prior to sale. They're (eBay) messing with counters now. PayPal wants to charge us for the "always free" service of payments accepted by credit cards. What next?? I'll tell ya.
Just got home 3:00am from working a 12 hour shift. Logged on to check email & a nice little note from eBay collections telling me I'm overdue on my last closing statement. I'm set up with c.c. exclusive for eBay use, & autopay end of each month. Checked my account info...all ok. c.c doesn't expire for another 2 years. Called c.c company. Account balance minimal, no where near max.
Be prepared gang, looks like the collections dept.@ eBay is the next to go haywire!

Rest assured, someone will post here shortly to defend ebays new phone scheme, and blast you for being a "whiner" for being concerned about it.
Well, something to look forward to!
Actually, I really enjoy all of those cheerleading posts, there are times I laugh so hard that I cry!
Don't get me wrong. I've always felt of myself as a pretty steadfast eBay advocate. Then again, I don't "mega List", as many of you do. (Working 12 hr. shifts makes it difficult for me). 10, maybe 15 auctions every month or so. But there's so much going on. Too much to be ignored here.
I'm one the last people to think these things should be ignored. What amazes me are the people who defend every single decision that ebay or Paypal, or whomever make, while calling anyone who disagrees with them names.
Honestly, I'm concerned about some of them -
the real world cures naivete sooner or later!

I think it has come to the point that eBay & PayPal are trying to weed out the small sellers.
It will either be what you do full time or it will be to much hastle.
It will end up like the local flea markets.
All big sellers with new stuff and no customers.

Phoning the Seller - that is ridiculous. I personally HATE to talk on the phone, and have no intentions of talking to every bidder coming down the pike.
I don't mind answering e-mail at all, I just don't like to talk on the phone, I consider it an invasion of my time and privacy.
I'll give them a phone contact, and my shop assistant will answer and that is as far as the call will go. I'll respond via e-mail.
I know not liking to talk on the phone may seem odd to many, but I just don't like to talk on the phone to anyone, I much prefer to write and to think out my thoughts; whether with customers or family.
Can you imagine how ridiculous this phone call situation can get with bidders calling at all hours of the day and NIGHT!
Not me - they can have my shop number, and that is it - They can call all they want then, and messages will be taken. BUT I don't think many bidders will want to pay for a long distance call on any thing but a high end item.
If bidders would learn to read descriptions thoroughly they wouldn't have so many questions.
Oh well, I don't use eBay that much anymore, so guess there is no reason for me to get so bent out of shape over this.
How is this going to work for people who have unlisted phone numbers? I am not sure eBay has thought this thing through well enough. Just wait till they get sued for forcing a seller to supply a phone number to some sexual deviant!

How about we all put in our auctions, "If you have any questions, call this number:" then we give them Meg Whitman's office number?
