Hi All,

I'm looking at buying an item that is new in crate, and weighs 300 lbs. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting a freight shipping quote?

Thanks!!

Look in your phone book YP for motor freight services usually. Not every line serves every area.

try fedex. they do freight, and I suspect they are cheaper than the common carriers (but don't take my word on that, check carefully - freight costs can be outrageous).

More important than weight when dealing with freight is the size or diminisional weight. You must know the crated the diminsions of the item. Keep in mind that any addional handling at the time of delivery, such as, inside delivery, uncrating, set-up and getting rid of packing material will cost extra. Also try looking for "freight consolidators".
