After taking the summer off from eBayin', I am slowly pacing myself back into selling. Had my first batch of auctions end last night, in the middle of the "we're down, we're up" game that eBay so loves to play!...Anyway, the proceeds from those sales will pay my storage fees and leave me with a few extra bucks....So, in other words, I'm not strapped for cash.....My question to you all (because I value the opinions of the posters here) is this: I have quite a bit of inventory & a good number of what I would call "big ticket" items....Typically, I "throttle" those thru the auction cycle with my other items to insure a decent "grand total" for each batch of auctions...BUT, I am leaning towards listing ALL the big tickets at once, collecting the $$, building the bank account & then sitting back and taking my time with the less valuable items....

Would appreciate your input on how you would proceed??????

Thanx.....

rancher,

Fall is usually my best selling season on eBay. I say sell the big stuff and park the cash! You never know when you will need it.

Life is uncertain, eat dessert first!

Personally, I would put the big ticket items up a day or 2 apart. That way when ebay goes down they are not all hurt at the same time. Less loss.

throttle. controlled release. The grocery store puts something HOT in their ad EVERY week, not a week of specials..

I agree with spreading them out a little - just in case eBay goes down. I'd also put a disclaimer in the auction saying that you reserve the right to relist the item is eBay is down during the final hours of the auction. Good luck -

Spacing them helps if you have a following of people. I encourage people to bookmark my auctions and check weekly. One buyer may not strain his budget for 2 big items but if they are a couple weeks apart he will. and as everyone said - don't want a big bunch caughtwith low bids on all
when eBay goes wierd again(not if).

Thanx Everyone!....These items (as typical of my inventory) are quite diverse, so I don't believe that any one bidder would want more than one...But a good point is made in the "wonderful" eBay stability (or lack thereof!)...I think that I'll hold a couple back for "specials" & then list the others a few days apart from each other to minimize eBayrisk...
