I'm not surprised to see that Billpoint is taking advantage of PayPal's huge blunder. If PayPal had rolled out everything they have promised I think they would have had enough people upgrade to keep them happy. Curious to see what happens next.

Help Please!
I just remove the Paypal logo off the bottom of my upcoming auctions and BidPay looks lonely down there. I want to add BILLPOINT's, where is the link for their logo.

I would not fall into eBay's trap any more. Lower fees, till the competition is out and then new improvements (!@!$#%^#) and the fees will back as before and probably much higher. If sellers fall into this trap and abandon Paypal, they have no one else to blame but themselves.
Before Paypal, I tried to open a merchant account, and it would have cost at least 500.00 to start with, at least 30.00/Month to maintain and the usual 2.5% plus 0.35 per transaction etc...
So let's not forget what Paypal offers and fall into eBay's Trap.

If sellers are smart they will spread it around a bit. Competition usually means lower costs for everyone. I didn't drop PayPal but will start promoting other options. The good ole boys at PayPal got big heads because of their market share. Other services will take advantage of their arrogance and they will get a stiff dose of reality. I thought this might happen.
Now that their claims of being the lowest priced, feature rich, service are no longer true.. (Actually they forgot about the other free services when making these claims) they will probably make some changes.

Yep and I like the fact that exchangepath will allow you to accept AMEX (my personal favorite ), discover and debit cards.

Good for Billpoint!
Glad to see they are giving the lower fee to all their customers. With their acceptance of visa, mc and discover, plus international buyers plus being available to some international sellers, they are a very attractive service.

Guess those of us who signed on with BillPoint from the beginning don't look as much like the village idiots anymore.
BillPoint didn't have to lower their prices, but what a smart marketing move (and we didn't think ebay HAD a smart marketing move in their body).

This is not an ebay trap. It is a legitimate response to an action of your competitor. Don't forget it is PayPal who scammed us. Yes many benefited from PayPal but PayPal would have never become what it is today if it did not mislead us. I am glad Billpoint is doing this since competition is good for buyer and sellers. Maybe it will even delay PayPal from going public and making hundreds of millions of dollars.
With the fee structures, I would definitely use Billpoint since it is cheaper, fully integrated into the auctions, directly depoosited into your bank account with no fees, and very importantly - FDIC Insured. Don't forget Billpoint being owned by Wells Fargo also has to follow the banking laws and regulations of this country which protects us. It seems PayPal can do whatever it wants and I no longer trust my money with the 26 year old South African PayPal owner who has no banking background and has broken his word and failed to address our questions/concerns.

This is what I was waiting for.
I signed up with Billpoint at the beginning, but have never advertised that I accept it.
Now I will start advertising Billpoint on all my auctions (after Oct. 1, of course).
And yes, I am still accepting PayPal but am not featuring a logo. I still have a Personal Account with PayPal and that's the way it will remain because I am not a business.
Now my bidders have many more choices! PayPal, Billpoint, check, money order, BidPay, cash, gold bullion....
