Yikes stripes! Listed a quilt at 11:55; first bid on it at 12:23 - that's right, 28 minutes after listing.

Now *I* like my stuff - but this sort of bidder alacrity is rather startling. Guess the summer's really over!

Great, Leigh!

But remember the thread about the auctions that don't get indexed because they get a bid too soon? Certainly not trying to be a wet blanket, but you might want to check into it and make sure everything is working properly.

Actually, while everyone was crying about the summer sales, mine were doing great - although I wasn't listing a lot, I was selling nearly everything I listed. But this past week really was BAD!

I guess it depends on what you are selling. We were averaging 65% - 70% sales on our listings all summer long. Last night we sold 4 out of 17. September has been more than a bit slow for us so far.

Phew. Geez, gc2, you stopped my heart for a minute there.

It's listed, it's coming up in searches.

Again: PHEW.

And thanks for the heads-up. Seriously.

Feistyone, not to steal HCQ's thread, but my summer sales were more like 80-90% on first run...and some unexpectedly high bids. Last night was 14 out of 44...barely 30%, and mostly minimum bids. (See my thread "Some interesting results".)

<SIGH> My sales seem to be on again/off again, with most bidders waiting until the last minute to snipe. I guess I can't complain as long as stuff continues to sell.

Hmm....couldn't be that I sell quilts - often seen as "cold weather" goods and gifts? (HCQ says "duh" to herself)

HCQ, I've always read your posts and admired your expertise! Now I want to see your quilts. I tried searching on your name here in eBay and nothing comes up. Would you send me your id?

Thanks!

I listed some clothes that *2* of my sons had outgrown. (Yes, worn by 2 kids!) I ICQ'd the auction to a friend of mine right after it launched and said "I'll be floored if this gets any bids". Auction started at 9:02, got a bid at 9:27. And another 12 after that.

I was/am very happy with that one

I had the summer slump - and my items aren't season sensitive. I have noticed a definite pickup since school started. The weird part this week is the first two items that got bids (very quickly) were the two that I almost didn't even put on.
