Chronology of events goes like this:
9/4/2000-Auction ends, amount $50.00, I send notification to winning bidder with feedback rating over 300
9/5/-Bidder responds with address and says will get payment out
9/6/-Bidder (I assume) sends me an email from a DIFFERENT email address, asking for shipping info, and wants package sent to a DIFFERENT home address. The NAME is the same. I reply with a copy of the bidder notification, and his initial reply. I state that payment can be mailed to the same address. Individual replies with "send item to this address", includes the different address.
9/18-No payment received, I send a notice asking if payment had been sent. No reply.
9/20-Still no reply, no payment
I don't post here often, but I see a lot of good ideas floating around. Should I consider this dead and move on. It just strikes me odd that someone with a 300+ feedback would skip out.

I would send one more e-mail to the original addy and let them know if you do not hear from them by Monday then you will be filing NPB form. Then follow through. That should get their attention and hopefully at least get you a response.
Good Luck.

My first thought is that the buyer has experienced a marital/relationship break-up, which would explain a new address and change of email. Is this person still bidding on Ebay under the same ID? If so, which email address comes up when you request the email address for the User ID? What contact info comes from Ebay when you request contact information? If you're not getting payment from the original email address, you might as well figure that the 2nd email and address are legitimate (after a little checking) and go ahead and ship the item there.

pickersangel, a transaction was completed on Sept 6, that was the last transaction on which a feedback was left. The original email address still comes up on the inquiry.

I'd suggest pulling contact information on the buyer and calling the listed number. If you get an answer, ask for the buyer. That should give you an answer in pretty short order. If you find that the contact information is invalid, report the matter to Safe Harbor, email the "buyer" at the 2nd email address to let him know that you can't sell to him because you can't verify his identity and file a NPB warning and then for FVF (or sell to the second high bidder, or to the "buyer" at his new address--I guess you have a lot of options ).

I'd keep a very short leash on this one. Two weeks after an auction with no payment is NPB time regardless of feedback. Ten days later file for FVF. You are no longer under any obligation to the original bidder--I'd see if the 2nd high bidder will buy.
Maybe the bidder does have personal problems, that's no reason you have to be party to them.

Have you tried emailing the buyer *from* a diffrent email account? I've been having some weird things happen with hotmail, and some have reported problems with AOL.

Is the second e-mail address registered on ebay also? If so, I would be curious enough to request contact info on both of the email addresses just to see how they compare. Even if you have no intention of actually phoning them, you have every right to check this out.
