I HAVE A VERY VALUABLE BRACELET, DIAMONDS, I WOULD LIKE TO SELL. HOW DO I TOTALLY PROTECT MY SALE. HOW DO I PREVENT THE BUYER FROM CHANGING DIAMONDS FOR JUNKY ONES AND THEM RETURNING THE ITEM. HOW DO I WORD THE LISTING TO PREVENT THIS TYPE OF FRAUD. PLEEEEEASE, YOUR BEST ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU, G&M JEWELRY.

gmjewelry1: I am not a Diamond merchant, however, I can tell you a few things for sure.

HOW DO I TOTALLY PROTECT MY SALE.

I'm not sure I understand you. But if you are saying that you want everything to go smoothly and such - hey! that's what we all want, right?

As the seller of this item, I am sure that you have recently had it appraised by a professional and have a signed certificate to that effect. Otherwise, you wouldn't know what to sell it for.

Next, nearly all diamonds these days have a unique number burned into them by a laser in order to track diamond theives. That is the way you would verify that your buyer did not substitute paste if they returned the item. If you do not have the diamonds individually marked, go down to the appropriate dealer and have it done.

If you have these services done and you have the certifications of authenticity and registry, the wording in your auction should come to mind fairly easily.

Hope this helps.

If you would like to have some credibility, you must at least spell Gem correctly.

Hi, spelling and CAPS aside, I will give you my opinion. I have to disagree with Borillar about the laser inscriptions on nearly all diamonds. I am a diamond appraiser (it is my only business) and have to date seen very few of these inscriptions. It is a service that is provided for generally larger certified stones and is costly. I am assuming that this bracelet contains melee (stones that weigh .10- .12 Ct. or less.) I suggest that you have it appraised. Have the appraiser measure each stone and ask to have a few plotted. As each diamond is different, a plot will certainly tell if stones have been swithced. hope this helps.

I suggest you check on ebay for other items of equal value on ebay. See what these sellers are doing. The advice a;ready given is excellent also. Good luck
