I sell jewelry on ebay, and need some help in this category. I'm thinking about listing some old lettered crocks that I have picked up over the years. My question is, is the market on Ebay decent for crocks, as i can run them through auctions here near home. Also, and More IMPORTANT, can anybody tell me how to ship them, so they do not arrive in peices?

There are a couple of old lettered crocks in the Round Table, and they could probably give you firsthand advice with your query.

The how to ship I can help with. Box crock carefully surrounded by bubble wrap, then box that box carefully surrounded with bubble wrap. Make sure item cannot move in boxes. As for the first question..at local auction you have a hundred or so people looking, on ebay you have hundreds of thousands of people looking.

A very wise-ebay friend of mine, puts unknowns up at ebay with a very high reserve. She figures that for $3 she gets a free appraisal. Why not? 15 million registered users should tell you what you want to know vs a few hundred.

Thank you so much for an obvious suggestion. I can't believe that I didn't think of this, what a fantastic idea. Your friend has a great mind, grumble, grumble, still can't believe that I didn;t think of this. I will try this.

Or you can use a service like eppraisel or AW to get one of the crocks valued - usually they offer one free. -Rosalinda
