do you have to mail a package at the post office where your stamps.com postage is registered? I was thinking that it could be possible to print out postage labels for customers who want to return their item.....
I do remember netflix.com they used to send out prepaid 55c envelopes postmarked in San Jose (before they switched to business reply envelopes)

I've shipped out items from other post offices than my own (I also use Stamps.com) and all the other post offices gladly accepted the packages....

You can take your packages to any post office. I never use the post office where I'm registered. According to my postmaster, you must hand packages over the counter to the post clerk, you should never put packages throught the mail slot. They become suspicious otherwise.
You can't print labels with stamps.com unless you want to print postage too. If you want just labels, you can print sheets of them in MS word. It even has the bar code printed on the label.
