Since I am well invested in Disney collectibles, I have been watching this very closely.
While Ebay hasn't announced anything new about this the venture of Ebay and Disney, yet Disney has been advertising it on their site.
The strange thing is; I tried to get into www.disney.com, which has an area that says shopping. If you hold your mouse there it will give you two options, one of which says "auctions" This is the link to the new Ebay Disney auction site.
I tried www.disney.com and it popped up a screen for a credit card ad. Nothing to do with Disney. I tried www.disneyland.com, since this page has links to take you back to Disney's home page where you can get into the auction link.
The first try pulled up 6 paged of advertisements all unrelated to Disneyland. Using the scientific method, I tried again.
which let to a screen that if you clicked it took you to here:
http://www.dancinghamsters.com/
which lead me to here:
http://www.dancinghamsters.com/html/blastout.html
Now I had all of these dancing hamsters on my screen.
Ok, maybe this is just an acid flash back from the sixties. No wait. I was born in 66. Much to young for acid, though graham crackers and milk did hit the spot.
Ok, could be sleep depervation. Could be that I'm spending too many hours online.
Tried www.disneyland.com again. Darn it, I want in to their auction page.

This happened because you are interested in Disney stuff--if they can get you to want anything they produce you are considered fair game for anything they want to sell. I used to love Disney stuff but after reading the Mouse Betrayed I wouldn't go near them for anything--including collectibles.
This might have been a hack, but I suggest you read that book anyway.

Kellyb: some time this weekend, I will dig out alla my old Wired magazines, whenein Disney was favorably mentioned in relation to its online fans, in an article about Hollywood and the Net, which I believe delved into major stooopidities perpetrated by Warner Bros -- my memory on the article is not clear, but Disney was mentioned for its GOOD treatment of fans, somewhere in Wired -- I'll try to locate the exact quote for you, as I believe it would interest you --- AND, thank you Disney Collector for showing up here, lol!!!
Meantime, here is one link, from the eBay AB, and there is some other link I have bookmarked from go.com that I'll try and find for you, too.
Personally, I am delighted that eBay has accepted Disney under its "umbrella." And, of course, will keep my eyes peeled, in case my delight is unwarranted...
I got carried away with the delete button and accidently deleted your post. I will copy and paste it.

Actually Disney does traffic in porn. Read The Mouse Betrayed. eBay is rather uncritical of some of their business partners and unevenly critical of what is allowed on eBay.
