I've posted the same thing 3 times, askingg people to evaluate my auctions...why does it keep getting deleted without explanation?
The threads were deleted because providing a link to your Seller's List is considered promotional under the CGs. You have been sent email notification by both LindaAW and myself to the email address you have registered with AW and it hasn't bounced back. Are they not getting through?

MichelleG,
I understand AW doesn't allow "promotion" of one's sales, BUT, how does this really differ from another current thread where the originator gave the number of one of her sales & ask everyone to give her feedback on what her sales problems may be?
I mean, it's not a HUGE leap of logic (even for jerry12) to take that number, then click to see her entire seller list?
Why is it unacceptable to post a link but acceptable to post your seller ID or give a single item number?

It's a very fine line, I agree and sometimes difficult to judge. I am aware of the current thread and we have allowed similar threads in the past where there have been no bidders on the auctions or where a User has requested specific help.
The major difference in this instance was that tc61380 provided a link to his complete Sellers list which the CGs consider advertising or promoting your own auctions. (Your signature line can contain a link to your auction user ID).
This is the interpretation the Moderators have been given to work with but I will seek further clarification from Administration.
Michelle

Eventer -
It was not my intent to cause controversy here. I have a serious problem in which bids have stopped on my auctions. I was looking for an explanation. I posted an item number to prove what I was saying. These are 2 different scenarios here - I'm not sure why the originator of this thread asked for folks to check out his auctions - he appears to have bids on just about all of them. I'm not clear why you singled me out and made reference to my post.

This problem always seems to crop up with new people to AW. What the standard practice is, is for you to wait until the auction in question is over before you ask everyone for opinions about your ideas and work. Otherwise, it is concidered advertising, not just by the AW folks, but by other users as well.

tc61380 - I feel for ya. This center does not allow even the faintest hint of advertising, even though other discussion centers DO have self-promotion boards available to their user base, AND THOSE THAT DO NOT WANT TO SEE OTHERS' AUCTIONS DON'T!
Additionally, if you ask a question about this in the Moderator's Corner, as I have, you will be ignored and your posting seems to disappear.
It would seem AW does NOT want users trading amongst each other--we must be unable to judge each others' business character and quality by posts, and no doubt we would come back later and whine about our transactions!

Hi, joyz. I read your post and I wanted to add my two-bits. I, for one, would hate to see The eBay Outlook degraded to a trading forum instead of an Auction Help & Discussion forum. There are other places that Sellers can go to trade goods, I'd venture a guess that even in The AW Round Table it would be acceptable.
Realistically, if you want to sell something online - go list at an auction web site. If you want to advertise, get a different forum and pay a special promotional fee to AW for the privelege.

I looked at tc61380 's auctions, they looked fine to me and nearly all of them had bids. It seemed a little self-promoting to me too especially since he never told us why he was asking.

Hi Borillar, (loved the Thomas Covenant books, b/t/w) I appreciate the apprehension about the eBay Outlook disintegrating, but I asked about a separate area, which may or may not attract any lookers.
My asking about the possibility for such resulted from reading the "Do you have a disability?" thread. Several posters were very direct about some of their problematic symptoms, and some even spoke of products that might help (although of course they didn't offer these products, themselves.) Because I could be considered a "dealer" of health-related items, (even though I have not made a dime off them yet!) I did not have the right or means to offer any discussion about this product, nor could I post a link. My family members are the only ones I have bought for, and they seem to have good results! That is all I could hope for, that my dad feels good again.
With the inability to let these people check it out via a link to the web site or another forum, or e-mail to me, I will just have to hope they discover it on their own.
