I have just made my last transaction on eBay. Bad enough that a bidder reneged on the bid but apparently after 45 days eBay will not refund the auction fee. In addition, because the item has expired, I can't even post negative feedback on the welching bidder. The eBay customer service people are useless. They give the same canned answer to every email.
I am so DISATISFIED that this is my first posting ever to a message board !

take a deep breath.

If you have the item number it may still be in the system even though it won't show up on my ebay or seller search.

Sorry to hear your misfortune & loss, that is always a drag. It happened to me once, too, because I waited too long. Well, now we know, right...my choice was to simply not wait as long anymore for overdue payments. I changed my TOS in my auctions, payments now must reach me within 15 business days, I even give some lee-way -- but after 30 days I if it has not arrived I always put in the "Non-Paying Bidder Alert" just to be under eBay's deadline, then if no payment is received 10 days after that, I can request the credit, neg the bidder, and move on. I'm sure some people don't even wait that long.

Ebay is not really the bad guy in this scenario -- they have their rules & regs printed out on their site page, best to just familiarize yourself with them, and get on with things. Hopefully you did not lose too much in the fees you cannot get refunded on that one.

Good luck!

I can't believe it...the same thing happened to me today.

There are lots of high bidders that finally send their payment at about 28 days...I wait until 30 days then contact them with a dunning notice...if no reply, I neg. feedback them and write ebay. Today they responded by suggesting I request final value fees...only to then tell me I couldn't have them because it's over 45 days...I was not happy.

but I'm still selling on ebay 'cause it's bringing in the money...good and bad, it's where it's at.

You can post feedback for your item through eBay's "feedback forum" feature. Items less than 60 days old are there. Also, there's a link to click to leave feedback for an item older than 60 days.

Thanks Vargas, I didn't know that. Now only if they would let us leave negative feedback for a NARU.
