I had read on this board that there were free listings for sellers to sell on Ebay international sites. I looked around in Ebay and could not find info on this. Does anybody have any info on this?

Yeah, I don't think eBay is going to make that sort of 'free listing' info available!

I recall someone saying that they had signed up for eBay Australia or eBay Germany...can't remember which country it was for sure. But once they did that they discovered there was no fee to list their auctions.

Then others started saying it was impossible to sign up for an internation eBay with a U.S. address. Several came back with a 'oh yes you can.'

It intrigued me for a moment, but I decided it probably wasn't worth the hassle. Let us know if you ever find out more about it.

Thanks for you input. I notice ebay says go Global but does not give much info about it. Anybody else out there got any info?

Best advice is not to sell international, you will have many more problems, and this is truly speaking from experience.

My advice is not to take Booktrader's advice.

In 5 years of selling on line---about 3 on EBAY hardly a problem worth mentioning.

This is where I am confused. I already accept international orders on Ebay. So far I have not had any problems. I average about 1 foreign purchase per one week of auctions. What I don't understand is foreign sites you must register with individually. Does anyone understand this process? I am confused. Also, I had read on one of these threads, that if you register on one of the sites, the listings are free. The "free" aspect is what has my interest. Thanks

You don't have to register at EBAYcanada or EBAYuk etc seperately----you just have to launch your auctions from there using the EBAY ID you already have.

Just make sure you read the criteria for getting any free listings if they are offering them---some of them you have to list in the currency of the site.

Many of the auction lauch sites do not support the International sites (including AW)---so you hve to do it directly from EBAY(whatever country)

I know there was a USA seller in Maryland using the free UK listings, because his ad said so, and had words to the effect that in order to get the free listings, the price must be listed in English Pounds, but he always put his real location, the approximate exchange rate, and that payment in US dollars was accepted. The UK free listings ran out in July, I think.
