i was scanning stuff to start another batch of auctions on ebay. my daughter was nagging at me for being a computer hog and i was trying to get 'just one more' scan done. i had put all the scanned things in a laundry basket to keep the room kind of neat. for no reason apparent to anyone else, she stepped in the basket and i heard the crack of glass. under a pile of books, i had an 8x5 framed old print of the 23rd psalm. i scolded her and asked her what on earth possessed her to step on a laundry basket. she said, 'i didn't know that was in there!' i said, 'that's exactly why you shouldn't step in things. you're 14 and should know better.' i picked the books out and started removing the glass. she was sorrowful jones and offered to buy new glass for it, to which i replied, 'darned right you will.' i removed three nails from the back of the frame and discovered a second picture behind the first--an original cupid asleep! now she thinks i should pay her a finders fee. she's also offered to step on every picture in the house.

uh huh. that's what i thought!

Send her over here. My entire house looks like a war zone (embarrassing; I have to turn guests away at the door). Maybe if she stepped on (and broke) my stuff cluttered everywhere, I'd finally toss these "white elephants". (BTW, I know which words to use to get the cartoons, but how do you insert them? Thanks.)

I'm such a dummy...what is an original cupid?

Sounds good anyway! Serendipity!

I pulled the same stunt one afternoon when my Sweetie came home from an auction (I stayed to watch the shop) -- I went out to the van to look at something, climbed up to get a closer look, stepped on a blanket and C - R - A - C - K!! went original colored glass in the back of a hall tree that was lying underneath the blanket! He (Sweetie) remained amazingly calm.

We all have our daze!
